    my hermit crab likes being out of the tank :-? and then he lost his body seriously though this was the shell left over after a hermit shed its skin i was viewing some one elses tank and the shed skin was in the tank i asked for it then mounted it inside a shell from the mount beach
  8. used to sit and watch the suris for ages with their young you come to realise after a while of fishkeeping how smart some species of fish are and how they use different ways to ensure survival of their young

  14. new fish arrived today finally was able to get to auckland and get Candy's fish, thank you Candy added to big tank Black Ghost Knife, smallish Dat, ornate birchir and Delhezei Now in tank 2.1 x .900 x .750 2 large silver arowana, think male and female 3 Senegalus birchir 3 ornate birchir 1 BGK 1 Dat 1 vermiculated synodontis 2 port hoplos 1 female leopard ctenopoma 2 angels a 5 festivums and 3 geo brasiliensis i haven't managed to catch yet
  15. i always acclimatise the feeder fish no, they were dropped straight in if you want them to survive well i would recommend what has been said in this thread as to warming them up they eat a little flake, but in the wild they are detritus feeders ie: they are good for cleaning up leftover bits even fish excreta

    use same as Afrikan for the Africans use coarse river sand for the others
  17. had some in my tanks for almost 2 years now originally used for feeders some have survived also feeding live mysis but they don't seem to last long
  18. partner has been caught by the aros and jardini a few times then she curses at me
  19. worst bite is a human bite been bitten by a few animals but a human bite took the longest to heal
