  1. data i have read siggests that DE is not usually found in wild animals seems more restricted to tank raised fish
  2. that is a very old guinea pig, and to live that long she has had a very good and contented life full of love now for your final act of love it is time to let it go and end the pain it is suffering i ave been keeping animals for too many years and the hardest part is that they generally don't live as long as us, so their end days is something we generally have to face make the kindest descision that is in the best interests of your pet let it go
  3. i have wheels on the aro tank the tank is 2.1metres x 90cm x 750cm they are big solid steel wheels i only use them when thre tank is empty
  4. thank you for clarification
  5. good luck with your year stella it is ok jumping in the deep end, just means you have to paddlle harder
  6. i got it off jude, all she had i think i have some small plants i haven't planted yet
  7. if he is real young live food, live food, live food
  8. you learn something new every day do they have a lot of cracked tank bases over there? if your entire base is not supported caper then the amount of rock you place in the tank will be dependant on the thickness of your base and the equations involved are beyond my meagre knowledge
  9. so long as your base glass is supported evenly and the rocks are put in gently you could probably fill the tank that is so long as the stand will support the weight some people put thin polystyrene under large rocks as an extra precaution make sure rocks are not able to slip and jar the glass over here silicone is available in a hardware store, should say safe for aquarium use on the tube
  10. i think in these times we live in the minimum wage retail assistant would be doing all those things to ensure they keep their job and if they were doing those things consistently they might not be on the minimum wage for long
  11. the dark and light sides are 2 different tubes the ornates spend most of their time on that side whereas senegals and delhezei cruise everywhere not too up on names of plants so bear with me the plant you are asking about is possibly Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia other plants are anubias nana, narrow leafed java fern and a java fern with a frilled edge. The long narrow leafed one is a crypt - possibly beckettii still have 2 large handfuls to plant so have started on the aro tank bit worried about the oscars though thanks for the comments guys
  12. sorry didn't read the size of fish  i bred chromides in freshwater a few years back though

where were the photos when you first posted nice fish, what size are they?
  18. that was a serious programme makes me happy to be called a mongrel amazing how few genes the different breeds shared today even though they had a common ancestor all in the pursuit of money, prestige and maintaining a human set standard
  19. or as Billy T used to say "keep the perk till after work"
  20. another reason for drop eye maybe that in the wild they spend most of the time looking up for food whereas in the tank there is really only a bright light or lid to look at for most of the day
  21. maybe the animals, fish etc are just there so everyone buys the accessories that go with them
