been setup a few years now the prawns are fully tropical and they are fully contained i think this is the species MACROBRACHIUM ROSENBERGII and this is the maf requirements the health standard is available here http://www.biosecurity.govt.nz/imports/ ... ic.haw.htm

if the gill membranes are kept wet it can be awhile but as soon as the memdranes are exposed to air they start to get damaged so time will vary some types of fish will last longer
