do daily water changes of 20% will reduce your losses ui have over 100 fish in a 3 footer and have lost 4 in the last 3 weeks they came from an ice cold pond so i expected to lose more than that touch wood

just let it cool naturally or do small changes then do water changes once at right temp once fish have gone through an extreme of water parameters adjustments need to be slow to avoid adding further stress you will always lose some as alan said, natural selection takes over

the high heat may also have contributed to a lack of oxygen in the tank which in turn may have caused some die off in gill membrane there are many variables that will have come into play but shock to the fishes system will be the biggest you will just have to wait it out one consolation could be what is left may be hardy

if the black barring on the tail and fins is the background showing through then yes but if black is pigment then probably not leucistic leucistic is a reduction of all pigmentation

no they have little gauges that if the prey item doesn't fit in they can't eat it sounds like thats whats being advocated

it can take awhile for the water to get into any unsealed areas where the concrete is i found changing water every 3 days for a few weeks was best way of reducing the effect the lime was having on ph while it is high cycling process will be harder

walked in turned all the lights on and checked the tank inhabitants one of the crayfish lying on its back, DAMN gotta do a water change if it killed a cray, 1300 litres :roll: so reached in and grabbed it out heavy, pulled it out of tank and water was flowing every where HAHAHAHA NEVER STOP GETTING FOOLED WHEN A CRUSTACEAN DOES A SHELL CHANGE :oops:

http://www.societies.govt.nz/cms/charitable-trusts process is fairly easy 4 - 5 people, maybe one from the council included once set up you can apply for funding etc look for other trusts doing same work and enquire with them, most will be only too happy to provide info
