  2. hatched today ............ :bounce: wriggler stage
  3. really depends on whats in the tank but id say to young anyway probably nothing will happen but why do you need to move them now ?
  4. hey simian yes i have them and yes i think i have a pair the "female " is smaller and has less hairs on the leading fin and rounder in body shape no havent bred them ...............yet 8) have them in a 5 foot tank with L128 and L200 one day will seperate them and try to give em a go male is 17cm and female around 13 cm HTH p.s photos are a mission as the five foot hides them real well (heaps of logs and rocks etc) may be the smaller one is just a young male but heres hoping
  5. well doing my rounds and found dad sitting on eggs lol reckon i need some new numbers to try and breed heres hoping they make it thru to wriggler stage and beyond many thanks to the one who sold me his " possible female " for making it happen
  6. love to help ya ilah but neva seen another one like yrs maybe a pic would help some of those that dont know what they look like
  7. you have four L018 s (gold nuggets ) in a four foot tank together ?????
  8. mr pleco

    gold nugget

oh he comes out just not when yr around lol typical for gold nuggets if they dont feel comfortable i.e enough hidey holes for them to escape if need be

    BN caves

hey cam yep yr pretty much right clear is unfertilized /fungused is usually fertilized but now bad and black dots are good eggs the male will usually eat or discard the bad eggs (clear or fungisied) to keep the rest viable some ppl try this manually by using twisers as the fungised eggs can start attacking the good eggs BUT in yr case it really needs a steady hand and a bit of experience as you can destroy good eggs in the process just try to keep good airation around the eggs and only seperate bad eggs if they are detached or easy to get to to reduce the risk dont panic this is quite common in first batches and will improve with two things firstly more batches of eggs as experience in the pair grows and probably (just a guess) as less intrusive owner with a torch every 5 minutes looking to see if they have layed eggs good going with the first batch
  10. good luck with that charlie do you know if you have a pair? what size are they ? pics of yr setup would be good
  11. lmao firenzenz now lets see if im "hypan boy " every superhero needs a sidekick (and thats what you'll get when i see you )
  12. well ive been called worse and as one person said here once "never say never "
  13. phew thought you were trying to export me dixon
  14. me staying here ? to the best of my knowledge i am dixon you have some news on me that i dont ? i would doubt /be disappointed if they are being exported still . there is a market here for them ,even if it may be small at the price they may fetch, but i would definetly sell local before exporting and use it only as a last resort if the local market wasnt available(if it was me that is )
  15. from all reports and investigations io have made dixon the answer is no i think they were the only "reported breeding " of L046 as per breeding scheme look it up its still litsed on here in 1999 But as far as i know they sold them on and they either left the country(the fish i mean ) or they died thru mishap ..shame eh coz they were here and they are a beaut fish
  16. nah ilah im just getting started when i post breeding L200 then ill be showing off dont ya reckon 8)
  17. cheers catfish and others who have made comments 8)
  18. lol typical just bring some L136a when you arrive lol yes agreed Lo66 is king tiger and L333 is different and again i apologise heres hoping we do have both . 8)
  19. i completely agree firenezenz after several hours of looking on planetcatfish these do in fact more resemble L066 than perhaps L333 but as always yr welcome to come and clarify as yr thoughts are always appreciated i would agrue however that babyfsh's pair are more like L333 than L066 apart from that im confident that these are king tiger just i should have posted L066 instead of L333 it was my understanding that both were originally listed as king tiger but with different L numbers i apologise for any confusion on a side note babyfish's pair are still seperate from the breeding colony so i have no issue with crossbreeding as im confident the colony is of one species here is some photos of parents before breeding commenced note tail fin length size and patterning L066 in nearly all images on PC have longer tails than L333 mr pleco
  20. why does a four foot tank with four L066 king tigers always look busy? [ well it does with 90 other L066 king tiger babies in there ..
  21. no catfish, yr fine ,nice collection you had by the way ,some of those numbers you wont find in NZ well not many anyway dont worry bout Dixon i think he gets a rush of blood to head sometimes esp when it comes to GBA crossed with BN hopefully you can return to some fancy plecos stocks soon and share yr knowledge on them
  22. ill give this a bash 1. depends on light intensity if good light dosent really matter but always try to cut just above side shoot as this is where it will continue to grow from if light isnt the best then cutting it too low will result in original plant dieing from lack of photosynthesis 2.yep common behavoiur kribs like to have escape roots and they dig hollows in the gravel to move the babies to ., the holes or hollows are a better way for parents to protect them probably feel like the front entrance is maybe not secure to take them out or possible to prevent predators in 3. dont know for sure but orchids are split in the same manner so its quite common usually when plants need this type of propagating they have"bulbs "or are grown from bulbs and you must have a "bulb" with each new plant you split dont know if this is true with cypress .. HTh
  23. if you are talking about the L10a then requirements are temp 82 ph 6.8 small current usually from airstone but can have powerhead tubes openended about 12-16 mm in diameter remove female or tube after breeding as females are prolific egg eaters HTH mr pleco p.s have seen these again in shops recently looks like there may be some females present , males have hairy ordontoles females do not
