  1. Eheim does use wool pads, atleast mine does and all other new eheim filters. Without it it would be pretty hard to catch any particles floating in the water, also you should only wash the filter media with fishtank water to avoid killing the good bacteria. If I were you I would put a sponge/wool pad back in the filter and do a 30% water change
  2. i have silica sand and it only goes half way up the siphon, just do it for 3 seconds per section of sand
  3. You can cover it with clear masking tape untill its the right brightness
  4. chuck the siphon in the sand and watch all the crap come out of it, usually a thick cloud of brown

  8. white spot cure is also called methlylene blue i believe. If you have fish that don't have scales such as loaches, half the dosage.
  9. Best thing to do if "it" gets worse or doesn't improve is to quickly kill the fish, sounds horrible but they become very distressed when they start to die naturally.
  10. Are they good cylinders? I'm getting a pressurised co2 system in the next few weeks and haven't found anything good and as cheap as what HFF has atm. P.s I was also looking at that same regulator
  11. Quick update, Got 150kgs of black satin sand and 25kgs of black diamond gravel yesterday, also carved the last bit of the background (to go on the side). Just waiting for the silicon to cure and then the tank will be filled and ready to go Tuesday night, with fish going in on either Wednesday or Thursday (depending on how I feel) Still have to get: *Metal Halides *Moon Light *CO2 *Plants *Dark coloured rocks Have found the metal halides I want to use but can't get them till next pay day
