    Hi all!

Not bad for a first tank, I would recommend getting some dwarf cichlids - they are super cool and have a great personality
  9. I've heard of people using a copper washer with good success
  10. What tubes are you using in your GLO fitting? I have sunlight and tropical, I have a feeling the "sunlight" tube isn't that good for plants as mine seem to go a crappy colour on the tops of them (although that might be coz its an aquaone tube)

    Hi all!

    Any pics of your tank?
  12. I'll take some pics tomorrow of the green spot algae on the glass, its a newish tank and the spots are kinda big in places so should show up pretty well (I haven't cleaned it off for a wee while )
  13. might be a cheap knock off? In my experiance with general equipment you find that the manufacturer makes the stuff in say germany for EXAMPLE, then a year or two later they try to increase profit margin by making them in mexico or similar. The parts may be the same but they are assembled somewhere else (and vice versa)
  14. Yea you should be fine if you split the two tanks, my tanks 1100L and its sitting at 24 degrees with one Eheim heater (was stone cold when i filled it up 2 days ago)
  15. I can get clear photo's of green spot and dust algae if your interested, Personally I like algae growing on rockwork and wood - looks natural
  16. Could you not use a seperate thermostat? hook all the heaters up to it so that they all turn on/off at the same time. I'm only using two 300w heaters on my big tank, the jagers are rated up to 1000L each
  17. Its a whole because thats how we see, light is absorbed into the eye (in basic terms) I'm not going to get into refraction/reflection and light spectrum :sage:
