I was being a tease david. And yes, I used to race road (did a 4.20 around Taupo (the 160km) if that means anything to a non roadie). Used to race XC also, i think I did a 4.10 for the Colville classic when I was 15

Are you sure they are silver hatchets and not common hatchets? they are two different species, and while the commons have been bred in captivity, I don't think the silvers have. Common hatchetfish is Gasteropelecus sternicla, silver hatchetfish is Thoracocharax securis . The two species are easily confused http://badmanstropicalfish.com/profiles/profile89.html

The Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) is my fave. A single bite releases enough venom to kill 250,000 mice! Or 100 humans. Amazing really, I wonder why it evolved such a potent venom?

Haha you can say that the money want well sent, but it was probably better spent than the US space program. they spent how many billion to discover there was water on Mars, and that was after they spent several billion to discover there was ice. if there is ice there is water- go figure!

cheers Zev. I think an interesting topic would be how people who negatively influence the environment (eg Duck Shooters at Peka Peka Swamp) can positively enahnce the environment, through habitat restoration.

Hey guys, I need to do a research project in the Napier/Hastings region, focussing on community involvement in habitat restoration projects. So if any of you have any contacts or helpful websites for people involved in tree-planting, weeding, pest-management etc on a voluntary basis, that would be very helpful. Cheers
