  1. Awesome, Lacistrus is my fav rainbows. Nice colours Mine all decided they were born to fly and they took the leap of faith. Make sure the tank is covered.
  2. Just a standard daylight tube from a wholesaler or Mitre10. The tube will have either 6500k or 865 on the tube. 865 stands for 8= tube size, 65= 6500k HTH See here http://www.fishkeepers.co.nz/forums/vie ... 729#p16729
  3. BTW, that is my R Rotundiflia pearling from my DIY
  4. DIY CO2 I simply fill a coke bottle to the bottom of the label with luke warm water. Not hot!! I add sugar and shake till dissolved. Add more sugar, shake until dissolved. Keep doing until no more sugar disloves. Add one heaped teaspoon of yeast. Shake and connect to co2 line. Lasts about three weeks and has a steady output rate the whole time. Simple as that. But remember , there are many ways to dkin a cat. What works for some may not work for others. Hope that helps

  9. Hope all goes in your favour, but be prepared for the worst. Like spoon, when I was made redundant years ago I didnt have a clue what to do. It was the closure of the business so was not the only one. I just applied for every job I could and came out and told people that why I needed a job and was prepared to start at the bottom and work up if needed. Well I got a job as a delivery person. Now I am a store Manager and I really like my job. Stay positive and if it is the worst case scenario, demand them to pay for things like a professional CV, etc. I can imagine how you must be feeling today. Go play with your fish tanks to keep your mind off it for now as there is nothinhg you can do till you are sitting in the meeting with them. Stay strong

  11. Hi, Sorry to hear about this. The timing is aweful being nearly Christmas and all. Sorry I am no help here, but after reading Alan and Barries replies I think they are giving some good advice. Can I ask what industry the job was?( I am assuming it is Manufacturing of some sort?) I wish you all the best. Its just unfortunate that when you should be able to enjoy yourselves over the festive season, you have to deal with this sort of thing. Be perssistant and dont give up. Good luck
  12. I have mine growing in with my crypts. Its sprouted off several smaller leaves. Will take pics if people wanna see it. Anubias Afzelli is more suited for tanks viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40050&hilit=afzelli Its on the lists so you should be able to order some in for yourself
  13. Ànd temperature fluctuations. In direct sunlight you will cook the moss
  14. Good light, CO2, and PMDD will work. When you attach it to something, make sure you spread it out as much as possible and make it a thin layer. This enables full contact with surface to be attached to and prevents the lower levels rotting due to lack of light. Once it is established it will grow like wild fire. Keep it trimmed for best growth. T5 HO lights would be best. Try this site http://www.aquamoss.net/
  15. With the Harvey Normans offer, are they providing some sort of Extended Warranty with their application?? Hence the increased price. This is the usual case in retail stores. We sell it at our work too( furniture treatment spraying with warranty). I may be wrong but I think you will find that the HN spray will be applied just before delivery to you( allowing it to dry first obviously) by the staff at HN themselves. There is a multitude of different products. My Brother is an Upholstorer and said most products are the same stuff, just different branding. In the end , its up to you what you choose.
  16. I have a Toyota Caldina I would buy another Toyota Caldina. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is a 2 litre, cheap to run, has the balls behind it when you need it. Plenty of room for family and it is big enough to put my fishtanks in and transport most stuff I need to move around. The engine is reliable and parts are cheap and easy to get hold of if needed. If I couldnt buy another Caldina, I would buy a Nissan like imsweets one
  17. I think they look like fat Boston Terriers   But Im a cat and fish person, so what would I know. LOL That man deserves a DB!

  20. Thats not my blog. Its an imposter!!!! Mine is www.supasi.wordpress.com Also, if it is air in the cannister, try laying filter on its side. If noise stops then its definately air. If it doesnt stop then its the impeller. Check to see it is sitting coorectly with nothing obstructing it. I have several Aqua one cannisters.
