  1. Any neon blue platinum HB female will be compatible with this strain, that female in the picture is a actually a neon blue HB female. Want some? I had some of these but accidentally bred them to swallowtail merah and the result is this crowntail
  2. Would you like some of my yellow tail and orange tail females, free? It is good to help somebody with a mission.
  3. The Thais call it Blue Mossaic Half-half Black Fantails , they might as well call it Quarter Blacks instead of Half half blacks  Very nice fish, where did you get it?
  4. Are these what you are looking for? Found out I had old enough virgins after all! Want some?
  5. Thanks for the offer but I have no more space, trying to curb down the MTS. I already am working on 15 guppy strains....
  6. I believe these endler-like guppys have been in NZ for a long time at least since 1994 when i started breeding guppies , I actually often see some of them sold as feeders, and never even looked at them until I got interested in endlers and foundout that they have endler blood when I saw them in Aussie and found some in Auckland. My male I believe is not an endler but already a hybrid with guppys because endlers do not have lyretails. Maybe we should start describing them as "endler-like guppys"
  7. Yes they are the same strain as mine, did you get them as venezuelan guppies?
  8. Yes It is a tank for reject guppies. LOL
  9. I will breed the females back to the father if he survives, he's too old I guess. Also if I can find other endler-like guppies around I'll try to breed these to them.
  10. Yes, have bred him to plain guppys and to moscows and to albinos. Hopefully have saleable strains like AdrianHD.
  11. Because I didnt have endler females. Father: He's been a busy boy!
  12. Heres my avatar crossed to x-linked snakeskin And here's my avatar crossed to red tail platinums They are not fully coloured yet.
  13. Hiya, The closest Ive got, he's still young.
  14. Moscows are not widely available in NZ, those who have them usually keep them and sell them only to people they know will be able to keep the strain and understand guppy genetics and breeding. I have been hit by some dodgy sellers stating they have a Moscow and me being trusting buys them without inspecting them first. Always ask for a picture, or ask around if the person selling is of good reputation, I only found out that the persons who sold me the fake moscows had a bad reputation and kept changing his name on forums to con people. Also ask yourself, why is that person selling their Moscows????

  16. Yup, and it should look nice to you.
  17. A good guppy is one that is of a recognised strain and up to standard for winning awards at shows, be it the American, British, Thai, Malaysian or International shows. It has to breed true, which means at least 95% of its offspring will be the same strain. Also it has to look stunning and very healthy and resistant to most diseases. Guppies that sell cheap are what breeders call rejects or feeders, quality guppies will not be offered for less than $10 in NZ or US$20 in the US. Most good guppies cost no less than US$40 for a trio. I spent $500 for two trios of pure strain Onyx Black Moscows, $90 for a trio Turqoise Blues, $50 for trio of German Yellows...etc... and these are guaranteed pure strains. Of course in NZ you can still score a high quality cheap guppy if you do your research or contact the right people. There are only a handful of breeders here in NZ that have good guppies.
  18. I too am breeding for pure yellows and have lots of virgin females except that they are too young to breed. I started off with german yellow male, a yellow platinum male and bred them both with yellow snakeskin females. I now have several fish similar to your picture. I would recommend that you find yellow snakeskin females if you dont find a similar strain to your fish. I can send you some virgin females if you want them for future breeding. cesarz
  19. Can anybody direct me to the thread where it lists guppy strains that Phil was selling sometime ago? I cannot find it using the search. Thanks
  20. Check out the livebearers r us website and they say they can cross breed and have done so.
  21. Platinum guppies are those that have a metallic overlay over most of their body. It can come in yellow, white or blue, the green platinums are basically a combination of blue and yellow platinum. These can be also overlaid with silver iridiphores that make them sparkle. The colours change depends on how much metallic silver sheen exists, like the yellow platinum turns to gold platinum when there are more silver sheen on it. Snow is actually a white platinum without much silver iridiphores.

    Top 10

Ive seen Aponogeton madagascariensis in NZ too! Three years ago in Auckland.
  23. Ira is right, it depends on the person calling it wants to call it. Blond and gold are actually two different types of mutations. Both appear to have yellow bodies instead of the normal grey. To simplify terms, a blond is like an albino with dark eyes while a golden is like a yellower blond guppy that has small quantities of black around it's scales giving it a darker yellow effect like bronzed up. According to the Guppy Designer website different countries call it differently as in: In the USA the blond is called gold while the gold is called bronze In Asia the blond is called gold while the gold is called tiger In Europe the blond is called blond while the gold is called gold Scientifically the blond is blond and the gold is gold just like what europe calls them. To make things worse, there is also a pink type which is a blond without yellow colouring in the body. However, Snow a differnt type altogether it is actually white platinum, the fish has white metallic sheen on the whole body including the tail.
  24. Pectoral and pelvic fins reversed. #5 is pelvic #6 is pectoral
