    Ricca

Hi candy, If you have java moss, wrap it around some of your driftwood and it will stick to it in about three weeks, and if you dont want java moss with your riccia, zap the driftwood in the microwave and when cool, you can weave the riccia into the dead java moss, the riccia will love it because it now has an anchor and no competition.

    I wonder

I know two in welly that are not members but have a good selection.
  5. Yeah its true, they were multipying in Auckland (with IOU1) and those original ones are all still alive. The females never got pregnant again using the albino males, dont know why. I have used the albino males for the outcross but never outcrossed the albino females. Maybe I should try.
  6. My albinos I got from IOU1 have not multiplied, neither did the ones I bought from the LFS, but the outcrosses to my Golden Cobras were really great, about 50+, half of them blonds. It will be three more months before the outcrosses breed.
  7. Hi all, Just wanted to know what happenned to all those albino guppies out there. Any developments? cesarz

  10. Yep azolla and is an NZ native (suposedly)
  11. Eleocharis parvula will grow taller in high light while Echinodorus tenellus will grow shorter in high light. I have natural light on my tanks such that the tenellus only grows 1 to 2 cm while the hairgrass grows 6 cm. It will be reversed when you grow them in aquarium light, the tenellus will grow 6 cm and the hairgrass will be only 2 cm. And by the way the tenellus is really dense like a golf lawn.
  12. Sorry I've been away. Yep it is Eleocharis parvula and it only grows 3 inches. All gone now. I do not like it much as I have Echinodorus tenellus var parvulus which I think is better than the Eleocharis. CesarZ
  13. I've got a few. PM me with your details.

  15. Hi Tammy, You should wait a while longer, it took my snail eggs 5 to 6 weeks to hatch during winter, must be the cold. Normally they would hatch 3 weeks. cesarz
  16. Hi all, I have some glosso but have no success with it, it grows very sowly. I have them in the pond and have it in my planted tank on sand substrate. and both are really slow. What should I do to make them grow faster? cesarz
  17. Hey ltjan55, Are you sure they are eggs, I did some research on ottos when I bought a pair and most of them die within 4 months and the leading cause is tuberculosis. TB look like eggs in the belly. Did the "eggs" you found in your autopsy have yolk? or are they hard lumps? cesarz

  19. Check out this URL from MAF which shows you which plants are allowed in NZ, but you have to know the name of the genus. http://www1.maf.govt.nz/cgi-bin/bioindex/bioindex.pl Cheers, cesarz

  22. Hi, I have seen some bristlenose in Auckland pet shops recently that were golden but speckled and spotted with black, maybe this will be the same result as this breeding of GBA and ordinary bristlenose. - cesarz
  23. Ammolock ( or alkyl ammonium chloride) when reacting with ammonia becomes alkyl ammonia (not toxic not soluble in water?) and ammonium chloride (not toxic). The hydroxide that was created when ammonia reacted with water becomes water again, so no pH change.
  24. Heya, I've got dwarf chain swords when you're ready. Cheers, cesarz
  25. Is the sphagnum moss live or the dry ones? The dry tends to buffer the water down to pH 6, the live ones doesn't affect pH much.
