  1. what kind of damage to mouth ie fungi, the two feeler thingies hardly there anymore or what? if the two feeler thingies look like their shrunken,it usually a sign of been in poor water ie ph to high or low, nitrates, ammonia etc. couldn't put on a pic could ya!! might make it easier. shelley
  2. hi' i have seen this off&on in quarinteen with guppies,we usually used furan with not to bad of result's, i see he has got quite skinny inbetween pic's. just make sure he doesn't have a dusky look to him, on the body. as my old boss would say "if in doubt take it out". good luck.
  3. hi ya!!, useing the melafix is a good thing it will stop nasties getting into the eye socket. catfish are great carers of deseases,so the problem could be many as far as the first sick cory goes.how is the fighter? the melafix will definitly help if problem is bacterial. you could try some acriflavine on a cotton-bud directly on the eye socket. i hope your other cory in main tank is okay!!!! shelley
  4. hi's, how long have you had the tank running for?

    TB

hi ya!!, i have come across TB acasually over the years in quarinteen, mainly with neon's.we usually use copper, with medium results.if your tank is planted you will loose alot of plants,if you have clown loaches in your tank take them out. they would never be able to be put back in neither.and if it is TB don't put your hands in tank if you have open cut or scratch, both me and partner have caught TB,[skinsores] from that.i personally hate useing copper and i would just take out and destroy any fish that you think suspect, then cross-finger's,and also improve aquarium conditions.TB usually becomes serious when conditions are poor. as i said before we used copper with only med results, sometimes loose tankfull anyway. good luck and do make sure you have no cut's on hand's. shelley.

    Krib Behaviour

hi ya!, i don't know if i would put another female in, cause if the male then team's up with her they could both gang up on the female. just be patient, they might of had a tiff.or she just might be sick. i don't think that taking one out will help, just might add stress to problem. sit back and chill for a couple of day's,and try not to buzz around the tank. they might be shy  shelley
  7. there's a guy i know down here has one,it used to be in the shop at redwoods,i have been after it for along time, i bought a manderine of the guy,he quoted me after xmas he will sell it, here's hoping has someone added them to list for maf? you never know maf just might let them in  he is the only one around down here that i know of. shelley

    Krib Behaviour

hi there, how long ago did you get her? if it's almost 3wks,she could have whitespot,it takes 3wks for spot's to show, and it's usually after a move. raise the temp to 27 if it is whitespot the temp raise will hasten to bring spot's out.then treat. if it hasn't been 3wks,and you raise temp and spot's appear, she already had whitespot at the shop. or she just could be sulking because he doesn't like her. cheers shelley

  12. hi guy's, golden ram's are just a varient of the blue they are o-natural they come that way straight out of the wild. and as for the pot bellied ram's that are out there today, they are man-made just like parrot's. if put back in the wild parrot's-pot-bellied ram's,they would become someones dinner due to the fact they can't swim properly.
  13. hi klayy, i love this tank, and that's one nice siam.you say old brac tank,do you still have your siam?if so,how big is he now? shelley
  14. heaps, oscars, texas, jag's etc.the old parrot fish is quite robust.

  18. great pic's. poor porky puffer, most of the fish in pic's you can have, not to sure about festae thou. i think redwoods still have the headstander's in top pic,$38.oo each thou. and they get half-becks in regularly. and the crusto's look yummy heaps of crazy kiwi's down here.
  19. hi guy's, i have had my fahaka puffy for 2yrs,just want to know if anyone else out there has one, so can swap some info. my dude goes patchie every now and then.is that the norm?or is he getting stressed occasionally.?if so want to help my fav-dude. ph 7.4-7.0, hardness 10.0, tryed bringing salinity up to1.010[slowly] as everywhere i read say's fresh or brac my dude seemed to hate it. so please guy's any info cheers shelley&craig p.s.my siam tiger goes darkish now and then too,i know this is stress, but everything in tank is good ph,hardness etc,no levels of anything,no fish in there, that are of threat.can't figure it out he's the asian type so should have clear colour's,cream&brown stripe......not darkish.... any info would be great...thanks
  20. hi, what are the rest of the fish in tank doing? herefishiefishie is onto it i think,to bigger waterchange can do strange thing's to your fishies and water chemistry.but if that, other tank members should be acting strange too. shelley
  21. hi mitch, you are more than welcome."keep smiling" your 6 little guy's will see you, when your ready for them. and just to make sure that everyone smiles: same aplies to all. and a big thank's back at you mitch. cheers craig & shell
  22. hi mystic, you are right, sad as story,so now for possitive one. your fish is probably just sulking dude, and time will fix him. i would still check water though as fish don't do that unless chased or something is not quite right with water etc. cheers dude. shelley
  23. hi dude, what was your ph etc doing at time of skitzo attack. i have seen fish do this when certain things ie. nitrates and ammonia come to a high, spike. hopefully your fishie dude will be alright, i had a hap moori do this years ago hit his head so hard on lid he died 3 day's later.cause was a little kid banging on glass. cheers shelley
  24. i think it's great  it's amazing what you can do with a little imagination. i bet that it makes people take a second glance aye! me too, think handles great idea, kinda finishes off nicely. in the middle pic, the one looking end to end of tank. just asking not nit-picking but had you not long down waterchange or is the clay making tank slightly cloudy. just a thought  cheers shelley
