Well have two happy and healthy parents protecting 500 plus fry
Anyone care for a few Jack Dempsey from real looker parents?
Anyway if anyone keen for some later on then be sure to scream out..
Dead beat dad finally came to the party and just gently nudged my chocolate talking cat out of the way... that fish doesn't have a mean bone in his body, the big wuss... and the part to peeve me off is my digital camera not focusing properly.. think it may be down to the fact it was dropped :-?
I vow to get a new camera by the time they are ready to discover the tank with ma and pa
Yeah the JBL Cichlid Sticks are only really good for your American Cichlids, definately wouldn't feed to Mbuna
Sorry to hear of your loss boi and Bob the Builder
Rather a few months ago the real deals came in and they were retailing at $190 odd each. 5 inch size.
Have you got any pics to share cichfanatic of the new lot that came in?
Oh well do you keep your tank in African buffered conditions?
If so I wouldn't suggest Silver Dollars at all. The above fish I mentioned are non rift lake species. (Species that are from the Americas) and of course then you are talking about the Bala Shark that is asian and also needing different water parameters than Rift Lake Cichlids.
I personally wouldn't keep either Silver Dollars or Bala Sharks in with Africans
JMO
Just a thought, how about some suitable Synodontis as something different?
I wouldn't say they can go with ANY cichlid..
Silver Dollars are often kept with Oscars, Chocolate Cichlids, Acara, Surinamensis, Jurupari... etc
Nothing highly aggressive. A semi aggressive cichlid tank is fine
Silly question I know but... you don't have any species that is a nocturnal feeder/predator do you? Just checking, as I notice you said that they are dying overnight...
Dixon is bang on.... Croaking Gourami and Sparkling Gourami are different species...
They are closely related however.
Croaking Gourami - Trichopsis vittatus
Sparkling Gourami - Trichopsis pumila
