  1. Whooo cheesy weesies sound good, just had lunch and now i'm hungry again from readin this thread  Yup, they are pickled gherkins floating around, but the only time I see em are when I pick em out of the Big Macs... those are gherkins right?? Something you gotta try.. Vegemite!
  2. Plus Dominoes, Hellz pizza, Chicken oporto, Burger fuel, Burger Wisconsin, gazillions of Sushi places, random asian takeaways, Red rooster, Lebanese takeaways, Muffin break, Starbucks, Gloria Jeans, Esquire, Jester's Pies, Country Fried Chicken, random pies and sausage rolls at dairies, Movenpick Ice cream, NZ Natural ice cream, Wendy's <-- the ice cream one, and Dunkin Donuts but I think thats only in Auckland... Vinegar with fish and chips? Do you use it for both the fish and chips, or just the fish? And is it a dip or a sauce you drizzle over it like a lemon?
  3. Heh heh where else but from my favorite local fish store Great staff with good after hours service... 8) Post more pics dude, hows the breeding going? Awesome pics dimebag, issat a farlowella first pic, sturisoma second pic, and peckoltia third pic?
  4. Very nice Rcon, will try to get a pic of the 2 queens arabs I got from you, looking promising, I caught one out in the open yesterday . Whiptail 1 Whiptail 2 Otos!
  5. Amazon swords - marble, pygmy chain, and the normal kind. Pygmy chain filling in the foreground really quickly, marble swords cos they're big and beautiful Indian fern grows and never stops growing, no matter how much I chop off. Anubias barteri, nana and java ferns, slow growers, moderate lighting, look great. Twisted vals - cool looking plants .
  6. Thats terrible.... developing strains is one thing, but anything that deforms the fish is disturbing. I was trying to find out more about the butterfly to figure out if its for real, (like the kitten in the bottle - turned out to be fake), and I chanced upon this. Really really disturbing. Warning not for the faint of heart... http://www.arofanatics.com/members/shawnchen89/crueltytoemax/
  7. Lol Ron, I gotta go up and visit you again sometime, been too long. Those leopards should've gotten nice and big by now.
  8. Hey just thought I'd post more fish from Discusguru, lol they're in a community planted tank.
  9. The flow slows down quite a bit with the all-in-one aquariums IMO, they get clogged up by themselves. But yeah Siamese fighters don't handle current too well.
  10. Would that be a good idea trying to breed from them? I mean they are all brothers and sisters... probably a dumb question cos ppl do that all the time to create strains, but just wondering. Might be putting them up in the private trade and exchange section sometime in the future. Will prob be going relatively cheap when they do, probably put more emphasis on them just going to good homes.
  11. Cool thanks for that. I guess if they're ready to go I better get on to it before they get too big for the tank. Will prob let them get a little bit bigger before they go tho, first batch, think I've got new father syndrome. A friend suggested bringing them into a fish shop. What do ppl do with all the babies?? Just never thought it through.
  12. Was just uploading some pics and just realised watta big difference a couple of months make. Then June 2006 Now October 2006 Like how the plants were doing, but I can't say I don't miss the space before . I just love how there are TONS of fishes in the tank - it bordering on being overstocked and they all hide when a camera comes out. I've got photo-phobic fishes..
  13. Thought I'd put up some pictures, they speak a thousand words better than I can describe
  14. My blue ram babies are growing up and they're getting too big for the tank. How big do they have to be before they can survive in another tank by themselves? They're about 2 cms now and just beginning to become sexable.
  15. I get them too. They don't seem to do much harm, and I see em when I turn the light on and they disappear after a while. Someone told me water fleas?? I dunno
  16. About 4cm, they don't get much bigger usually then what you see at stores, they are many different species but they usually sell them with the same name, and they have variations in patterns as well. They like low temps and current in the water cos they're river fish in the wild.
  17. You can try borneo suckers (hillstream loaches) they stand temps under 20 degrees.
  18. I've got 2 filters running in a tank similar to yours, a canister and a hood filter just like yours. Works out well cos the hood filter gets a reduced flow rate after a while. You cant overfilter a tank someone told me once, just as long as the fish aren't fighting with the current 24/7.
  19. Whoa close call man. Good thing you went to look at the tank and caught it before it was too late!
  20. oh man, it only opens AFTER I leave :-? Hillstream loaches = borneo suckers btw.
  21. Hillstream loach? Its other name is borneo sucker, and the're quite common. They dun mind cooler temperatures and they're ok with goldfish not big enough to eat them. If you ask at Pet Warehouse near the warehouse or pet planet in Northeast Valley they might be able to order some in. Good luck with the hunt.
  22. Length of tank in cm x width x height and then divide it by 1000 and then you have it in litres. Times 0.26 to get gallons.

    wow
