  1. Not to mention that it is pretty annoying, and they may start disappearing, I have noticed them appearing all over the place... Then there are these used for the same purpose as well - :bounce: , may have to start popping those with my pointy stick :-?

    Hi Ya'll

Heeeyyy... I remember that bug! Welcome back, sounds like you are up to some interesting stuff.
  3. I don't think you could pay him enough money - and he hates Auckland
  4. I'm with Mel on the tail pic. Is it getting cold up there? - Our cat is always on top of the tank when it is chilly sucking the heat out of the lights.
  5. Metal Halides require replacing roughly every 12 months as well, but in your case would be good to get the light required at the bottom of your tank, there are different colour temperatures for them as there are with fluorescents. What are the dimensions of your tank?
  6. You could freeze up a few fizz bottles or small milk bottles and sit these in the tank instead of adding frozen salt water.
  7. If you were not concerned about damaging the lid, you could cut the top panel out and use the edge to hold the gladwrap down.
  8. Rockwool - it is what they pack around the roots of the plants when they put them in the little baskets. retrieved from:http://www.hydroponics101.com/sw63706.php Forgot the obvious question, Phoenix - you are having summer in Palmy - seems to have skipped us here in the HB today!
  9. I used to put a algae wafer or some shrimp pellets in a glass and put it in the tank overnight, then just lift it out in the morning before the lights go on.
  10. Ok, semi sorted. Travis is now trav Dee is now dee Back on topic with the Dats please
  11. Whitecloud Mountain Minnows are cold water fish as well.
  12. Not so, I would perhaps suggest that these two split into two accounts - as it is getting rather hard to follow
  13. Hi Feelers, long time no posts! I have used these guys in Auz before, and I think they sell Laguna stuff. http://www.aquaria.com.au/catalog/ Can't help with the Aus equivalent of the FNZAS, sorry.
  14. I don't think it is as big as the ginger one was.
  15. So you are leaving this outside, will it be safe - oh that's right, you have not flattie's cat to sit on it and squash it now, don't you?
  16. You can also edit it if it is still in your outbox if you have forgotten to add anything, or want to remove some bits as well
  17. You exaggerate, Ira - it is usually every couple of months.
  18. And the colour is perfect for book titles How is the eradication program going - there is always just one bit that you miss, and I am sure it multiplies when you turn your back :-?
  19. That disappeared in the upgrade, unfortunately, but the counter broke before then.
  20. Phantom's Mibbit one works well too: Web based IRC - http://www.mibbit.com/chat/
  21. Mondays and Fridays at 7.30pm - usually - I normally forget and log on too late, then only Phantom is there - not paying attention as per normal... The chat icon only works from the index page for some reason, and then it only links to this page: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=35786
  22. The one I am talking about is just a little fountain thing, not a filter, so only for aesthetic purposes and a little surface agitation during the day if it is sunny enough :-?
  23. ok, would like to know how big they are before I stick my hand up for the shipping - my poly boxes are not particularly big...
