Hi, I'm posting this on behalf of my son, he has a few questions below ............ Hello, I am a 10yr old boy and I am saving up for my first water dragon. Does a water dragon need a friend or should they live alone? Can a baby water dragon live in a tank that measure 76cm long by 38cm deep by 49cm high? We have glass lids. How much water does a water dragon need to have in it's enclosure? Thanks for reading my questions

We are going to start with IAL tea as soon as it arrives, next step Wundertonic then Furan, does that sound right? Also have IAL food arriving but get the tea coming as well as he isn't eating as well as usual. Should we remove other fish who so far seen unaffected? Can snails stay in the tank during treatment?

Hoping I got the right stuff for a start, lol Do I just put it in the tank in an even layer and then cover with substrate, then add water? I'm guessing I don't want to be adding it to an already water filled tank? Will it change PH or other levels?

We thought Otos might be a good fit with a fighter in a smaller tank, not too worried about eating algae (would be nice tho.. lol) Thanks for all the input folks

Thanks, Google was very confusing, some sites said SAE and fly fox were teh same, others said they were different. SO confusing. lol I was pretty sure that they wouldn't be suitable but thought it was worth asking Any idea for sourcing Otos?

We are looking at something else that eats algae, esp black beard algae, of the three in the topic header is the SAE the only one who will eat that? Are Black line flying foxes and SAE OK with a Siamese fighter? (I know Otos are) Any recommendations of good places to get Otos, (esp in Wgtn)? Does anyone know what size groups any of these should be in? I'm not finding much that will tell me if they school or if they are OK alone. Thanks

Thanks everyone, I wasn't expecting such a fast response! We already knew about basics like no gravel and low light/minimum flow but didn't know about driftwood, so thank you! I'm after suggestions for a couple of plants I cant put in small pots anchored in our Axie tank. Obviosly need to be cols water but I'm guessing low light too as I am not planning a light for them..lol

I'm pretty new to all this but wouldn't the carbon filter have taken all the meds back out of the water? Isn't that what they do, remove chemicals etc?

I'm keen to see what others do with their Axies. Especially I'd like more personal experience of what others in NZ feed as we'd like to feed as broad a diet as possible. also info on best way to feed/different methods, ie hand feeding or leaving food in the tank etc.

We started with the $10 deal, will likely get another lot. Was a huge variety and were all in great, healthy condition. Was the best way to get variety and to try out plants to find out what we liked

Camtang and the rest of you were right, I just bent the hose over and used suction cups to hold it in place - I had seen on another forum that they thought the force of the water going thru would be too strong for this idea. I guss cos my filter is only a 105 it's not as forceful as others could be. Fish are happy and I'm more comfortable now we have more than recommended filtration
