  1. I quite like the Weedy one, myself! They only had one Leafy Dragon, and about half a dozen Weedy ones.
  2. Ground floor tanks Cowfish Leafy Sea Dragon Weedy Seadragon Here you go Feelers! Cuttlefish Octopus
  3. A couple of years ago some local guy set up a tripod with a grey pumpkin on top of it in the boot of his white station wagon, he was amazed at how many people slowed down, even when he had the boot open, and you could see the pumpkin!
  4. Is this the fish that had white spot?
  5. We have one, it looked good for a couple of days when we first got it, then sulked for weeks - shrivelled up and shrunk to about a third of its size, or flopped over like it was gong to fall off its rock, or got bigger, but looked pimply with no extended polyps, or inverted itself so that its edges pointed upwards and looked thin and skinny, changed colour and looked as if someone had sprinkled sulphur on it... It has come right now, but occasionaly has a shrivelled up period for a day or so, sheds it outer layer - as they do to get rid crud off their suface, then comes right again. I'd leave it and see how it goes, shifting it around all the time may only make matters worse.
  6. So, for us newbies with smaller tanks who don't want to spend the money on, or cannot fit a reactor or kalkwasser stirrer anywhere around our tanks, what are some other good options for us as far as keeping calcium, magnesium and alkalinity at suitable levels. And what levels do you guys/girls try to maintain?
  7. Ok Wasp, I get the picture! They are exactly the same. Your post came up before I submitted mine as I was having trouble with the cut and paste thing out of word... grr I hate tabs! I was responding to Chimera's post.
  8. Uhuh, just curious because Pies said that his water was 57ppm. So if our TDS is measured in mg/l, is it sort of equivalent to ppm? I only ask because this is the results for the bore water on the property where we are going to build our house: Boron mg/l <0.1 Calcium mg/l 96.1 Chloride mg/l 41 Copper mg/l <0.05 Iron mg/l 0.6 Magnesium mg/l 12.9 Manganese mg/l <0.1 Potassium mg/l .3 Sodium mg/l 27.0 Zinc mg/l <0.05 Nitrate mg/l (NO3-N) .4 Ammoniacal (NH4-N) <0.02 PH @ 25OC 7.1 Conductivity mS/m @ 25OC 69.7 Total Alkalinity to PH 4.5 mg/l (as CaCO3) 295 Total Hardness mg/l as CaCO3 292.9 Bicarbonate (HCO3) meq/l 5.9 Total Dissolved Solids mg/l 466 Free CO2 mg/ 13 It appears that our TDS is high? Does this mean we will have to get a super grunty RODI system?
  9. Speaking of TDS, is ppm the same as mg/l?
  10. Nothing, if you don't ask, you will never know. (dang, now you have me quoting my Father!) Oh, great someting to look forward too... phhhhttt to you, too. So, is it big enough to frag yet???
  11. lol, I just knew you would ask that! Looks good, Antwan. My planted tank has turned into pea soup at the moment, can't even see the back of the damn thing! And I am still waiting for Brent at Pupuke to get me a Aponogeton Crispus.

    Julies?

..is she back from overseas?.. Maybe that's Meeshelley's problem!
  13. And you can do the dishes, too KA!

    Julies?

Do you mean Julii, as in Corydora?
  15. Unfortunately these will not give you the required spectrum for a marine tank.
  16. Got a pic of it? It could possibly be Tungsten Halogen - does it have a thin double ended lamp in it, a bit thinner than a Vivid marker, which is the same width along it's length?
  17. They will also sulk for a considerable amount of time afterwards, so if they look shrivelled up and small, they may be packing a tanty... as long as they don't go slimy as Wasp said they should come right. Mind you, if someone came along and lopped a few bits off you with a knife, I bet you'd sulk too! We had a Toadstool leather that we shifted in the tank, and it sulked for four weeks, looked awful, about a third of it's normal size. Try and get the cable ties without the metal inserts, too.

    Visit to Pies

Yep, it's a stunning setup alright. I had to pick my husbands bottom jaw up off the carpet when he saw it!
  19. Move the whole nest, scoop it out with a plastic container and float the container in the other tank. I used a Gladware see through one that takes about 500ml of water. Fed them Liquifry No.1 for egglayers to get the infusoria going, but don't give them too much of this if you leave them in the little container, it fouls the water quickly. See if you can get them some Riccia to float on top, this will help with somewhere for them to hide and can house lots of critters for them to eat. When they are a bit bigger they like baby brine shrimp (BBS), which you will have to hatch yourself. I just used a couple of 500ml jars and punched two holes in the lid and fed an airline into one hole, put an airstone on the end and sat this in the brine mix, let the air vent out of the other hole. Used Sanfrancisco brine shrimp packs for a while, but had a better hatch rate with JBL Novotemia. I just sat these jars in the spare side of my divided fry tank with water and the heater in it.

    ID this Anemone

Looks like a sulking Malu Anemone, there is one in our LFS which is milk white with small purple tips, it looks the same as the one in your pic at the moment, but I have seen it with its tenticles(?) extended about 30 - 40mm long.
