  1. I dont have a cube tank but i also love the cube planted tanks. 2ft x 2ft x 2ft is wicked with a 150W metal halide on top i know Dubbieboy has a 2 x 2 x 2 ft planted tank with pressurized co2 and about 150W of lighting. Hopefully he posts pics of his here Rogan
  2. lol owell i had it wrong... my bad Good Luck!!
  3. maybe you could buy a baby oscar and house it in there until it gets too big then get a 250L tank for it. Good excuse for a bigger tank Rogan
  4. so a GBA and a Normal BN have interbred?? This is not encouraged to cross breed the species. if they do survive they will probably end up being wierd colours etc. im not 100% sure but i wouldnt let them breed again as cross breeding species just weakens the blood lines. They may need to be culled if they hatch to stop inbreeding, im not sure Good luck Rogan
  5. sadly, if it is dropsy, there is a very small chance of it surviving. First thing you need to do is to seperate it from any other fish in the same tank as to not spread disease. Then you need to treat with some sort of medicine. i have never encountered dropsy so im not sure what to use but i would use melafix or similiar.... HTH Rogan

  7. you can buy aqua one cf1200 canister filters brand new off trademe for $150. Or you can buy a jebao 304 (also 1200 LPH) for $139.99 from deep blue aquaria HTH Rogan
  8. LOL thats the spirit.... IMO,I personaly think feeding something like a live animal like that to such 'beasts' is cruel because of the things stated earlier about them fealing pain whilst dying. if a human, Quickly and eficiently killed it then fed it, it wouldnt be as bad because it wouldnt feel pain. I still think it is bad to feed mice to them as they are kept as pets by many people. If it was a huge rat, then i would think diferently..... Rogan
  9. I have PM'ed you about that And well done with the gups Keri anne Rogan
  10. PICS PLEASE!!!!!!! O and welcome Rogan
  11. Yep, most lfs will have it Sand IMO is better for plants roots and it is just as easy to keep clean IMO, just hover the syphon over it and it will suck up everything, possibly a little sand but that wont matter Nay, plants dont like alot of water movement around their roots, Although i do have an UGF in my community and the plants grow pretty hard....... HTH Rogan
  12. sounds good, i will be able to come over and pick it up on sat or sun. i will pm ya sat or sumfin
  13. what cichlids are you gunna put into it?? Is that up in your lounge?? Rogan
  14. you can still use a powerhead without an UG filter, just suction cup it to the side and 'viola', you have movement.... HTH Rogan
  15. nice tank man!! Rogan P.S. The picture is 191.57 KB so you may want to downsize it before you get in trouble
  16. i rekon you try it, thats my opinion. I would do it Rogan
  17. yea im for culling to stop deformities spreading through the generations but if possible i would keep as a special fish so they could live a normal life. As long as they arent suffering then you should keep them alive I had to get rid of a couple female guppys with bent spines a little while ago but i couldnt do the deed, my mate had to.... (and they were only guppys!!!!!!!!!!!)
  18. for me its just the BN and guppys so far....
  19. pygmy corys 5 that im going to breed when i can (hopefully) Bristlenoses A breeding pair (both 7-8cm), 1 medium (6cm) male, 2 smallish (possibly female??)(4cm) and around 50 odd babies (1-2cm) I think thats about me ATM Rogan P.S im going to get ALOT more corys (mainly sterbai and panda and possibly some wild inports) soon once i get my big tank setup P.P.S.blue, you have some nice cats man!!!!
  20. LOL, just what beachy has done with his halide and skimmer etc, thats what i would do.... Rogan
  21. I think alot of people take the whole lid part (filter, lights etc.) off the top of their tanks and just put a hang on skimmer on and a seperate metal halide light. Im suprised this hasnt been mentioned yet, must be some reason??? Rogan ????
  22. I especially like the first pic if i must choose Nice photo skills
  23. Great to here tsar. Keep up the good work Rogan
  24. IMO aslong as they can fend for themselves (eat their own food and not be eaten by others in the tank) then it will be sweet to take the parents away. They will get over it and im sure they will soon have more babys to look after..... Just my opinion though Rogan
