  1. I might be keen on some co2 gear from there. Are the prices in US dollars or what??!!?? Anybody know?? Also, will there co2 regulators fit bottles in nz??
  2. Male bettas will have a significant hump on their back, Whereas females wont have such a significant one. The hump on the side of the female will be the belly/eggs.
  3. Exactly the same as bristlenose, just different colour....
  4. Yea from looking at the pic i would say athena is a boy, Looks just like one, And has a significant hump on his/her/its back
  5. shweeeet mate.. Nice looking tank.
  6. Hey mat. Im so P*&%$#@ about those 6400K bulbs man. Anyways, I Think i am going to get an 8000K bulb for my 150W MH. In other tanks i only have 6500K bulbs. 14000K will be quite Blue wont it?? Will be cool viewing as you say though
  7. Like when people sell a fish tank and the fish.
  8. LOL Um, I got it when it was very little, about a year and a bit before i sold it to mat, And hes had it since about the start of this year??? Probably around the 2 year old mark soon i would say....
  9. That sucks!! Have you tried putting him in a little floating breeding trap or something so he doesnt have to try and swim against the currents or anything, something little so he can sit on the bottom if he wants but can also try and swim. Hope he gets better!!!
  10. Oh no is this my old male?? Guttered! Yea, Only thing i can think of is melafix or something general as you dont realy know what it is.... Good luck man!!
  11. I usualy take mine away from the father just before they finish their egg sacks. Usualy about 2 weeks after they lay or 1 week after hatching, But they could be taken away anytime, I know people who take the eggs from the dad, as long as they have water movement they wil be shweeeeet HTH Rogan
  12. Yea, I reckon you could easily chuck a few bristlenose in there man. Bristlenose are sweet to be kept in unheated tanks aswell, They are pretty hardy fish HTH Rogan
  13. Hmm lets see, You could keep one pair of blue rams and a school of about 6 tetra in a 60 * 30 * 30 tank. Probably even 4 or 5 corys.... The 200L tank idea you had would of worked well IMO. I dont know about flag cichids but the rest would of been sweet together i rekon... Good luck ..If only it wasnt the cost aye..............
  14. Ohk sweet as then Gravel will be sweet
  15. ohk. Well i think most of those fish like higher pH's so that would be the reason for using coral sand or aragonite as normal gravel wont raise the ph. You could use coral rock if you or your LFS has any.?? I dont keep these fish personaly so i cant REALY help alot......
  16. I dont know because you havent told us what you have in your tanks...........
  17. Sock fish!!!! Are those available in NZ???
  18. I would agree with that easily. The reason that they have more is because they have much bigger tanks, much bigger/more lighting, much more equipment and much more other stuff..... All a 150L freshwater tank realy NEEDS is a heater and a filter, and if its planted then lights... Nothing to the scale of the saltys IMO
  19. Bird grit in a stocking in the external filter, Just start with a handful and turn the filter back on and the water will slowly go up, after a couple hours pH test the tank and if its too high or too low then adjust the amount until it is right
  20. Or you could buy the Aquatic Chelated TE mix from that hydroponics site not sure if its the same stuf or what tho http://www.hydroponics.co.nz/trace-element-mix.html
