  1. Yeah it works well, but only for certain worms, same with prazi and panacure.. It is very much hit and miss unfortunately.. You can get Levamisole from most petshops as a bird wormer called aviverm.
  2. Good point didn't read the 100gal bit.. Why not just get some Africans
  3. Blue acaras, red jewels, T bars, jags, jack dempseys.. There are tons of options in NZ
  4. Loving the pics of the BMW world, they must have some insane money invested there.. And good to see some africans! Even some that I have so I don't have to be insanely jealous like all the other pics
  5. Your name has been added to the list and capitation cheque that should be getting sent today So it is all go.. Looking forward to the meeting next week, remember everyone is welcome to come along and meet everyone just PM for the address
  6. Gutted man sorry to hear this! I hope you get on top of it soon.. The angels don't have red worms (look like tiny threads) coming out their buns do they?
  7. Sorry to hear about and see this David, if I had a $1 for every time it has happened to me I would have a few $$s now, it is just cichlids for you unfortunately Sometimes you catch them early enough sometimes now.. I am with the others hopefully the fry bring the next generation though.. I have no interest in keeping any but probably have some tank space to stash a few away and grow them up for you along side some of their (much better looking) african brothers/sisters if that is an issue for you.
  8. Just test it and see what it does, I know people have used beach sand with shells and stuff in it in planted tanks before..

It would be awesome I actually saw a video of discus in the wild and there was an awful lot of flow in there too and they seemed fine, same with some of the apisto videos I have seem of them in rivers there is quite a bit of flow..
  10. I personally wouldn't feed bloodworms that often.. Addition of a good quality flake wouldn't hurt either..
  11. It should be fine I have my adult shellies in with electric yellows and other male peacocks/haps in my display tank with no issues.. I have also seen plenty of shellie tanks on the net with shellies and yellows together..

    Tank Mates?

Yeah that would be awesome Are they going to be mates for the big one you have?
  13. Peacocks genearlly don't do so well with bigger more aggressive haps and more agro mbuna (except yellows or maybe tropheops) which are quite placid.. I find big colonys of descent yellows is a good base for adding yellow to offset allot of the blue you will get with most of the other fish.. Also some nice red zebras provide a good hit of orange..
  14. I have plenty of young giraffes getting upto 3-4cm long now if you want some..

    Tank Mates?

I have my ikola with dems with no issues But I would probably look at buying a few more than 8 dubs unless you are getting them sexed..
  16. Frontosa are awesome! I shipped a 20cm male from Bulls to Auckland and did a Saturday delivery.. The fish got lost and not delivered on the Sat and didn't show till Monday morning, I had prepared the guy for a dead arrival but sure enough the fish was alive and sweet as.. Kinda makes sense that a frontosa would be ok in colder temps they are deep water fish and it can be cooler deeper in the lake..
  17. 26th season that he remembers.. He does seem to forget allot these days..
  18. Sounds like we have a volunteer to provide a prize too This is coming together nicely.. Zev will be able to fill you in on all the technical details, but I guess if it was big then it could be used at pet expo and then easily scaled down to suit whatever purpose..
  19. Awesome Josh it would be much appreciated.. Maybe we can suggest everyone tries to make one for the meeting you are running and then we can all vote on them..
  20. Are you volunteering for something again Josh?
  21. Nothing wrong with our logo.. Maybe it's the site
  22. I am sure someone can pick up your contribution to the pot luck dinner/desert on the way Wok?
  23. There will be some agro but should be ok.. If you are worried just black out the tank for the entire time you are away and let them sleep all week. But yeah should be fine for 5 days.. Sometimes 5 days is only actually 3 without food if you feed the morning you leave and the night you get back.. Have to agree with not letting people who don't know what they are doing feed your fish! Have lost a few fish that way over the years, people thing it is fun to just bomb the tank out with food and don't notice things going wrong..
  24. I would chuck some media in from your established tank and do a 100% water change and start again, something weird is going on.
  25. How old are your test kits?
