    You could try one of those electric shock collars where you bury the boundary wire and put a shock collar on the dog and when it goes near the wire it gets a shock, you can eventually remove the collar when the dog has learnt where the boundaries are.. Even if you decide how to go down that route make sure you google testing shock collars on you-tube its brilliant seeing people test them..

    Yeah you could but at the price of the filter + extra for the pump (and you would probably want a half descent one) you are probably better off buying a big aqua one or second hand fx5..

    They should live together alright although dragonsbloods can be quite nasty so the male "sunshine" might get a hard time. If you want to breed and get pure babies then don't mix them.

    More efficient would probably be 1 2000LPH filter, it would probably be cheaper to buy than 2 1000W ones and probably use less power.. But as others have discussed there are pros/cons with running 2 or 1..

    That's a big heat sink! Are you doing DIY lighting? Most of the electronic suppliers jaycar and places like that should sell heatsinks, unsure if they would be the cheapest or stock something that big though.. You might be best butchering something like a big old car amp or getting some pieces of ally and bending something up..

    Yeah I agree if your not comfortable then it's all good plenty of less confronting situations to get some confidence in.. I know plenty of people that can't handle crowds etc.

    Yeah i have read the article too, some even suggest that iodine is good for fish.. So can be very hard to figure out..

    Wont work, they may fit in the tank but if the male does turn on the female then it wont last long for her.. Spreading the aggression - get a divider and keep them separate so he can't kill her, fill the tank with hiding places or get a bigger tank

    Have found them to be quite cheap and nasty and the sponges disintegrate after a while and a few washes, I still use them though

    Yeah just a box filter, thanks Caryl, I was trying to figure out the right word to differentiate between sponge and box type filters, because they are both technically bubble filters

    lol nube (I did have to check I didn't actually put July first..) Sweet that would be awesome man, the break down is going to be the biggest job because it all has to be out in a very short period of time.. But I guess that is just ripping fish and water out, setup has to be done a bit more carefully especially for those farting around with planted tanks because it has to look nice..

    All sorts and sizes, depends on what I have lying around, obviously I stick the smaller ones in smaller tanks, but most of my 2ft tanks have a sponge filter in them.. For messier fish I use a bubble filter because it sucks up more crud.

    Yes I use sponge filters in most of my bare bottomed tanks they are awesome

    I have always had better luck using the wonder tonic by directly applying it to the wound.. It seems to work better than in the water where it just turns everything blue and does stuff all else..

    If the PH is 7 then just leave it, you will cause more harm than good messing with it.. I would be more concerned about the ammonia than anything else!

Hope you guys have a good weekend away though Yeah we will let you know, really want to do a nice planted tank or 2 with community fish which is not my thing so hoping other people can help out, will let you know what we are short of when I know..
