  1. Pick up only that sucks, I hope all you auckland guys get in on this
  2. I have been meaning to get one of them for ages now would be soo handy.. I just try and crush it by hand or mash it up in a plate or something doesn't really work too well but baby africans are quite good eaters and the food is easy to remove if uneaten
  3. You can feed them on crushed up flake, newly hatched brineshrimp, decapsulated brineshrimp or microworms.. Remind me when you come through and ill give you some microworms and whiteworms..
  4. I had a look thru your photo bucket and you kiddies are just beautiful I love the one with the little one in purple with wings:) Sooooo Cute:) Great names to:) Steph:)
  5. lol its not empty its got water in it.. There are a few other smalle tanks empty as well Just waiting for some fish to fill it with It will happen..
  6. Tropheus, are you actively breeding these? Is there any chance you could spread some around
  7. I used to stick the hose in the tanks.. But now its winter and I have an empty 5ft in my fishroom (Shock horror an empty tank..) I use that for water changes and top it up afterwards But I change nowhere near 1000L..
  8. You can breed a smaller pair or trio of peacocks in a 2ft.. Jullies/pulcher/brichardi or maybe some younger zebra's (if you had 1m 4-5f) I also bred my afra in a 2ft (through a divider and very carefully not recommended though..) I wouldn't recommend dem's would be a bit hard to cram 12 in a 2ft and the potential for death/destruction is alot higher with that many fish crammed into a small tank..
  9. lol a little bit far for you to walk to bulls sorry
  10. Were getting half the babies each.. If he was selling breeders as trio's then I would have gone for that.. But seems he's not..
  11. What are you thinking of stocking the tank with?
  12. A 200W jager heater should be able to heat that tank they're good heaters..
  13. Agree'd and articles I have read on the net suggest 1m to 5f.. Which is what you have between you guys.. Johannes, one of your females looks like a male is this the whole dominant female colouring up thing? I think I remember brown hap's being used for alot of studies because they are known to do this..
  14. Hi and welcome good to see more locals Lights are usually on for 10-12 hours a day but you may have to adjust that depending on how much algae grows etc (ie if you have algae troubles bump it back a bit..) Even though you may have set your heater to 26 its likely that the thermostat isn't accurate sometimes you have to set a completely random number to get your tank to 26.. How many watt's is the heater? It is possible that the heater isn't big enough as it has been cold overnight.. Has the heaters light stayed on the whole time or flicked on and off?
  15. I moved my whole household Inc around 15 tanks from Auckland to bulls with nzvanlines had one tank get chipped but it was insured so no worries there.. I am unsure if they will take on smaller lots like 1 tank..
  16. I had a 2 males at one stage years ago but don't have any photo's left.. Johannes are they your females?

  18. Not many have them well at least not many have them who are letting anyone else know..
  19. Do you have a male and 2 female brown hap's? That would be wicked where did you get them from? Protect those females before the male destroys them..
  20. Awesome pic's and fish I think you have to get some barry white and dim the lights get those guys making some babies!
