    Hello :)

Wecome to the FNZAS Forum Rueben. I too have a 980, they are great tanks. I've been keeping fish for the past 10 years or more and I'm still learning. Look forward to hearing what you are going to put in your tank. Lynda
  4. Nice looking light, has good reviews so it should be fine Just make sure you get good strong lighting if your going to a planted tank.
  5. That's probably more to do with his colouration. Discus are stunning fish when they grow out nicely, hence the need for good water, and good quality food, nothing worse than a stunted Discus.
  6. WOW, Absolutely stuning photo's  Gogeous wee fella's
  7. Awesome, need lots of water changes when Discus are young, they release a hormone which can effect the growth of the other Discus in the tank, it's abit of I want to be the Biggest Discus in the Tank. Keep an eye on the heavy breathing, sometimes just adding an extra air stone can help. Good Luck Lynda
  8. How big was the tank that they came out of? How often do you do water changes?? I would certainly up the air content of the Tank, you could also up the temp a few degrees, Discus like it quite warm. Need to do regular water changes when Discus are young otherwise you will end up with stunted fish. When mine where young I used to do water changes everyday.
  9. Definitely recommend the Aqua One CF 1200, usually work out how big your filter needs to be by the amount of Ltrs in your tank, turned over at least 5 times, so if your tank is 200 ltrs x by 5 = 1000lph. I run a CF1200 external plus and 1000lph internal on my Malawai Tank, I use the internal for filteration plus water circulation.
  10. I'd definitely go for an External, obviously it doesn't take up roon in your tank that you can use for extra fish. They are easy to clean, offer good flow rate for your water too. You should be able to pop your background in before you fill the tank. Has it been sealed??
  11. 140 Ltrs is far to small for 6 Discus, you need to allow about 50 Ltrs per fish, so they should be in a tank of around about 300 Ltrs. I wouldn't worry about the PH, it's not out that far to bother mucking around with it. How often are you doing water changes?? What substrate do you have?? How long has the tank been set up?? What other fish do you have in the tank with the Discus?? What are you feeding them??
