  1. Not sure if I should be dissecting the Pregnent Guppys that I'm losing  I know it sounds abit gruesome, but just a thought, seems a shame to let all the fry inside the Pregnant Girls that are slowly dying, do to waste. Would the fry still be ok??
  2. Your best bet then would be to move tthe Eggs out of the Tank and raise them yourself.
  3. You maybe better posting this on NZMAS Be good also, if you could pop your Location into you profile, you can do this by going to the User Control Panel on the Top Right Hand corner of the screen.
  4. I've used Malachite Green with my Neons,Cardinals and Loaches before, I always halve my Meds when dosing because of the Loaches.
  5. Ohhh No Good on you for putting the Devider in between them, hopefully the Purple Tang will get the Hint  Only time will tell I guess.
  6. I have done Water Changes straight from the Tap, for the past 12 Years and never had a problem
  7. If your not so good with the Water Changes, I would stick with the Angels. But if you do decide to go with Discus I would definitely go with the Bigger ones.
  8. I would try him with a Buddy, he will try and be the Dominant one, but you may find, it will settle down with abit of time. What size is the Tank??
  9. She is probably feeling threatened with having the other Sevs in the Tank, so that will be why she is eating them. I would pop Mum and Dad into a Seperate Tank while they are Breeding, let them have the Eggs until they are at the Free Swimming Stage, then pop Mum and Dad into the Main Tank, where they were. And raise the Fry on your own. Feed with BBS or Microworms, do lots of small water changes and they should be all good.
  10. Hopefully your Discus will be on the mend again now. Just keep on eye on it, for a couple of weeks to make sure it has recovered completely, before adding it back to the Main Tank.
  11. I too have been having trouble with my pregnant Guppies :-? They seem to get really big, so big they look like they are going to pop, they then develop this Hunch Back look about them, quite often I lose them a few days to a week after the Hunch Back thing appears. I do Water Changes in this Tank everyday at the moment, so I'm not putting it down to the Water Quality. Any ideas why I'm having this problem.
  12. You might just be right there If he cant fit a Neon in his mouth when he is Small, he will probably grow up thinking he cant do it anyway, so why bother
  13. You will probably find he/she had Worms. Could you put a pic on the Site for us to see. Droncit is normally used to treat for Worms, but maybe the Metro has got it sorted.
  14. Bit of a dumb question, but What may I ask is a Scarlet??

Had a problem with cloudy Tanks, got rid of the Bio Balls, and in a few days the Tanks were clear, so I'm putting it down to the extra Eheim Pro that was added to my Filter.
  16. Maybe dilute it to half strength, obviously the Colour wont be as intense, then redose again in 3 Days, after doing a good Water Change.
  17. Ohhh NO Chantal, thats terrible Sorry to hear about the loss of your Fishys Probably caused an Ammonia Spike with all that food wasting away  Have you tested your Water Parameters this morning?? Would be good if you could Edit your Profile and include your Location, you can do this by going to the User Control Panel, located on the Top right hand corner of the Screen.

You would be better getting rid of the Bio Balls and replacing them with more Noodles, I found my filtration improved heaps by doing away with the Bio Balls
  19. Thinking of adding a BGK to my Fish Collection. Wanting to know are they Aggressive?? Have done abit of research on this, some reports I have read, say they are Agressive and others say, they have had them in with Neons and Guppys and they've had no problems with them at all. I'm guessing maybe it's down to the Temperament of the Fish itself.
  20. Any good Glasier will make you up a Tank to the Size you are needing. Any good Joiner will make you up a Cabinet to the size you are needing aswell. I have 3 x Aquaone Tank and Cabinet set up's,( Aquaone AR980, Aquaone AR620T and an Aquaone 620). Absolutely love all of my Aquaone Tanks, never had any problems with them.

I don't have an FX5, but I use Eheim Substrate Pro, in all of my External Filters Expensive but well worth it, Fantastic Stuff :bounce:
  22. Your plants will be fine with Blue Circle White Spot Cure I would pop your Loaches back into your Main Tank and Treat with Meds at Half strength. Do a big Water Change then redose after 3 Days.
  23. I would be treating the Tank that the Fish were in when they got Whitespot. No good treating them in a Hospital Tank, then reintroducing them back into the Tank they where in when they got Whitespot, it only takes 1 or 2 of those little Cysts to be remaining, to start the whole cycle off again. I wouldn't be mucking around with salt etc, I think your better to treat with meds and get it sorted quickly, before it gets out of hand.
  24. I have a Fighter in with my Guppys, haven't had a problem yet. Also have one in my Discus Tank, all's fine in there aswell.
