any votes on what is the best brand / model of external return pump? looking to get an iwaki / dolphin / similar. noise is an issue, as i have no sump room
your shark filter will have heaps more throughput if you leave out the carbon, i have one years ago on FW tank, and the carbon section clogged up every few weeks, almost stopping the flow. you can get media bags for carbon, just place one if these in an area with a bit of flow if you decide that you want to run it.
are they safe for our tanks?

"Mantis Shrimp are extremely aggressive shrimp that should be housed alone in a species aquarium. They have very quick claws that they use to break the shell of crustaceans and crabs. They should not be housed with fish or other invertebrates, unless they are very large, and caution should still be exercised."
cool though, if it is one of them you found
my tangs are pigs, but dont seem to overeat - that is they will leave nori for later if they have had their fill. the nori never seems to sit in the clip for more than about 8 hrs though, they always finish it eventually
i would like to have leds that go on when the actinics go off - tank looks cool with single leds going through water makes a really strong rippled-light effect. has anyone else shone a led torch in their tank from the top when the other lights are off?
