    zeovit poll

is there much benefit to be had by just using the zeolites without all of the additives, or just maybe using a bit of zeostart?

  4. i have some peppermint shrimps. hardly ever see them, and not sure if they are eating apstasia. there seems to be less small apstasia though, and i have spotted one of them poking a head out from a hole in the rock once or twice. sometimes see their shed shells about so know that they are still around somewhere. they are some of the ones that hollywood had recently

    Cool Video

yeah the gloves thing... guess that puts an end to having a polyp eatng contest dont know about others, but i have toughed my slimy leathers and zoanthids before and i aint dead yet. i will be using the ol' tongs a bit more now though i think... you have to wonder how much of that slime ends up in the water collumn and doesnt get skimmed or fried by the UV.
  6. shouldnt the air escape from where the leaky building syndrome water gets in? having a tank hood and porting that to outside is a good idea, may look into that one
  7. its caused by excess nutrients isnt it? why not just restrict feeding and do some water changes? worked for me in my last tank if its on the rocks, then eventually the phosphates will leach out of the rocks if the level of it in the tank is lower.
  8. "They will also eat meat off the bone, so if you have chops or chicken drumsticks that is also good food once you have eaten them to throw the leftover bones in. Bacon is a bit oily yes but it can be mostly rinsed off. "
  9. mangroves wont grow fast enough to perform any significant nutrient export. may be interesting to grow some though, i think wasp had one a while back.
  10. i mean my close ups not yours
  11. neither, then again the close ups arent that great either. my cybershot has gotten worse with age.
  12. ben ill grab a power supply from work for ya, theres surplus boxes of them.. i am running it off a 9volt adapter at the mo, they are rated for 12volt, so they will go that much brighter. scuse the pics my sony cam is shizen
  13. nice tank dude, having good equipment as you do will save you headaches later on. you should probably lose that filter wool in the sump, or at least make sure you clean it out every few days, otherwise your nitrate levels will slowly creep up.
  14. i got a multi-led spot from surplustronix in auckland today, cost about $14 for the light and holder, needs to run off a 12v 200ma power supply. [im using one from a set of old computer speakers :] for each 200ma that the power supply has, you can run one - ie 600ma 12v power supply can run 3 in series. they have purple, white, red, blue, yellow and green. they also do 240v ones, a bit brighter but not much.
  15. is steve the agent for aquamedic?

  21. going to go all 10k bulbs soon, the 14s i have are too dark imo. the halides i have are from a shop, not specifically for aquariums so the reflectors arent great either
