  1. Doesn't seem the case at all and it's not even a day old yet! http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/-vp135376.html#135376 http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/-vp135424.html#135424 It appears more like one rule for some and a different one for others.
  2. Oh goody - somebody who wants to help us understand what the story is. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/-vp135376.html#135376 :bounce:
  3. Geesh - even I can understand that. Pretty simple really - Either be a commercial member and follow the rules to get your message accross to a captive bunch of addicts for free. Or don't engage in commercial activity and enjoy posting reasonable / constructive criticism on what you want.
  4. Maybe the eggs are infertile due to a problem with one of the pair. Maybe the water parameters are not up to speck and they are not in the mood to raise fry. I have cyano in one of my tanks and the pair which have succesffully done it several times before are also eating their spawn now. If your water is sweet then it might be time to replace one of the pair if they keep it up. If they have laid I doubt whether they are feeling overly threatened by their tankmates.
  5. Second week - fish still partying - they reckon they're gonna dry some of the cyano under the lights and smoke that soon too. There's plenty available
  6. After reading the "banking" thread on Sunday morning I think it is about time. Just hope I'm not the first to get the boot
  7. Deejay - do you have an undergravel filter in your tank? If not do you have more than one filter where only one is cleaned at a time? The only other way you will be getting away with this unconventional practice is using water that doesn't contain chlorine and is around about the same temp as your tank. If none of these apply, I would suggest you touch some wood as often as you can 8) And if your partners tank is getting nitrites too often it is time to get a better filter!
  8. Don't suppose you could show us a pic of the noodles after they have been in your tank? Did you get them from your LFS or Trademe or ??? Did you complain to the seller? $5 is $5 That is bad luck Matt. Glad you sorted it.
  9. Well I hope my distorted view stays dry as it has to date. With 6 vertical seams (more in some) as opposed to the conventional 4 it has more places to let go - glad I'm renting!! If I was spending $1 per litre these days I wouldn't opt for a distorted view but thats my preference.
  10. The chances of Kribs, rams and apistos all breeding harmoniously in a 2 foot tank is virtually zero I would have thought. Your going to need breeding tanks as well - or coffins - dwarf sized.
  11. Hi Deanne. Good to see you here. This is a great place. We might c you at the next club meeting? Paul

Oh good you are picking this up fast! Lesson learned - don't take to much notice of what a shop assistant tells you - do your own research and make sure you can and want to provide a home for your purchases.
  13. Don't go for a tank with a bow (bay? whateva) front. Just a massive leak waiting to happen - And the view is cr%p through a bow front- to distorted - It was the first type I bought and I hated it from the moment it was setup.

Oh then well heres your first excuse for a new tank. 100 litres be a good start I'm sure you'll be able to find some colourful livebearers to take up the space your gourami' are using in the AR380
  15. Do you think it was the kalk?

How big are they Ben? With my pair of dwarf gourami 38 litres would be a bit small I'm afraid. In 200 litres the female has a few options as to how to keep out of old grumpy's face.
  17. Hi amazonian Yeah I was being cheeky  I take Nano to mean small on this forum anyway. If you are a 61 year old wrinkly I commend you on your ability to have got even a nano pic up As to how to fix it and make it bigger so we can actually see what is being photographed - It may be too hard - Just have some dark rum cake instead Seriously - What size images is your camera set for ? try making it larger?? Maybe if you have some photo editing tool like photoshop or picassa (freebie) you could make the images larger before you put them up on photobucket. Good luck - Try adjusting your camera before you make the cake
  18. Thats quite a big aquarium reefman. You listed the dimensions above at 75*65*75 presumably cm. Is this the size of one of your tanks or both together?
  19. How much noise does the laguna 7 make - I want a silent pump - 3000 litres an hour.
