Yep and aunbias too! Yeah the males are way bigger, and older ones develop a lump on their forehead too like a frontosa Here's my old setup: One thing to keep in mind is that they like to dig tunnels under rocks in the substrate, so give them someting sandy so they can dig but make sure they don't topple rocks! I used river sand...

haha! He looks like an ugly skinny version of Vin Deisil! Yeah they are good together There used to be 3 females and 3 males, but 3 jumped out and died when I put them into their massive tank (before I managed to get cover-glasses on it) I didn't think they would be jumpers but lesson learned! One of the best things about them I think - they are very happy in big colonies with every generation living together

Just wanted to say its so good to see so many threads/trades on Africans (especially tanganyikans)! They are the coolest fish around and its nice to see so many people have caught on!! :bounce: I've said it before I know but one of the things that interests me about these fish it that that are so good at adapting they have virtually all come from 1 ancestor and have filled every niche available... quite a feet if you ask me!!

I had my colony (the ones that Afrikan now have) perfectly happy in a 3" tank... they don't need much space by themselves, but as they breed SO much, you need to have space for/a market for the babies. (or just a different hungry cichlid that likes live food...!)

I used to have a shoal of Dwarf Neon Rainbow's - REALLY nice fish, could recommend them enough, a must for a medium/large sized community tank!

Increaing the temp REALLY DOES WORK! Make sure you give it a try before any chemicals - if only cause it won't be cheap to treat such a big tank!

I got him from a friend about 3/4 months ago now I guess... The substrate in the tank is river sand (which I use for everything cause its AWESOME!) so how big would you say yours was??!

Haha Yeah I did think about Jewels, but I don't think they look very nice really - not compared with a krib anyway...
