emaytiti
does anyone know when they come on sale and if they are available in the supermarkets?
Hamstar99
I would have thought you would be able to find them now. I have seen them around in Jan and Feb. Have you tried the Nosh super markets? I havnt seen them for ages admittedly. Maybe there isnt enough demand for the big supermarkets anymore to stock them. Dachende
If I remember right most of the blood oranges we get are imports from california, and their season is November to May so we should be seeing them in supermarkets soon. Jaide
The best oranges I've ever had was when I was in Rarotonga - their skins are green and yellow and the flesh is fabulous, not too sweet which Californian oranges always seem to be. Pity we don't get them here.
Caryl
I had to look up what they were as I don't think I had ever heard of them - or seen them. It will be interesting to see if they turn up in my local supermarket.

Sheepsnana
Buy a tree and graft or bud some blood oranges onto it. May as well throw in some lemons and mandarins too. This is my peach tree. Try to guess all the extras.
anthony law
the low leves look a bit ,,,,hemped,,,
Sheepsnana
Lower levels are rootstock. But if you planted a few "tomatoes" amongst a line of peaches, the cops don't notice. Purely speculative, of course.
Sheepsnana
That particular tree has Golden Queen and Blackboy peaches, White flesh nectarines, apricots, and a plum. Sadly the plum snapped off due to excessive wind (I see a bad comment regarding wind coming this way...) It is now much bigger (old photos) and I have had to prune it back this year. Budding works better than grafting, in my experience.
F15hguy
:smot: but if you graft a Hops plant onto a Mary Jane rootstock you end up with Hops that contains THC.....
