SamH
Please, don't tell me that you are adding CO2 in a dry start :smln: No way, I have SOME idea of what I'm doing The diffuser was in there just before the tank was filled, it's been filled for about four days now. SamH
Here's the tank after 7 days of growth. I need to have a good play with the camera to get the balance right but really not bothered after work. FTS. Glosso growing in nicely. I'm really pleased with the growth so far, the polysperma is shooting up and although the Rotala is taking it's time, it's got nice pink tips already. Trying to balance the CO2, adjusting it a bit everyday but I seem to either have not enough or far too much but today it was sitting at green so I hope it holds :nilly:
Sophia
your naughty crypts are melting :an!gry they should spring back fast though
critter_crazy
Pretty impressive for 7 days growth! Can I hire you to scape my next tank?
SamH
your naughty crypts are melting :an!gry I have some others I can use if I really miss them but I like my lawn and stems enough  Heaps of the java fern is dying off and I didn't quite realise how much of the moss was dead or dying before I tied it down, now most of it looks horrible and I know it's really not good for the tank either Thanks CC! The next 7 days should be even better. It's not the scape that makes the plants grow, it's the hundreds of dollars you spend on fancy gear  :nilly:
Sophia
the joy of crypts melting is when they come back like little presents from the gravel

SamH
little presents from the gravel  That's such a nice way of putting it! :') I sat and watched the tank for ages tonight, that dead moss is really bugging me but if I take out the rock it's attached to, my whole slope will come down now wats your fish guna be Good question! I was thinking a shoal of ottos 6 to start off with maybe cause cories will dig up my glosso. Then a big school of tiny fish, maybe 20 of whatever HFF has on special to start off with and build it up. And then a feature fish I need to decide on. Sheepsnana
Ottos would be awesome
SamH
Yeah they're about $15 a pop though so breeding them would be even more awesome I want a fish smaller than neons cause I want to make the tank look larger than it is. But I have a soft spot for neons too :nilly:
myfishybuisness
Yeah also stay away from bn, they get under the glosso and lift it up, why dont you get those tiny rainbows with the bright yellow finns( forgot there name)?
SamH
Threadfin rainbows? Do they stay under 30mm??

SamH
Ember Tetras and Mosquito Rasboras are definitely on the shortlist now 8) Would Badis be too small? I want a larger feature fish about twice as large as the schoolers.
Joe
Ember Tetras and Mosquito Rasboras are definitely on the shortlist now 8) Yes those would look awesome Or if you wanted something a bit different, maybe some Danio tinwini if you could get hold of them? The layout is coming along nicely Sam. Great work :spop:
F15hguy
Glowlight danios (Danio choprae) look awesome too,
SamH
Thanks Joe! The issue isn't really getting hold of these fish, it's more to do with the price per fish as I want to end up with a school of around 30. I might just have to stock it over a longer period of time. Today is rest and water change day, already done two 30% water changes in it's 7 day life and about to do a third.
Joe
Glowlight danios (Danio choprae) look awesome too, Yes those are really cool
F15hguy
normally cheap to. ask your LFS if they will add a big order onto their next shipment for you and if you take it straight away they might give you a discount (as its not taking up shop tank space, or time to acclimate them)
Sophia
scarlet badis are 2-3 times the size of a mosquito rasbora in body mass
