Godly3vil
Depends what thickness the glass is, but somewhere around 680-700ltrs. Heres a handy volume calculator; http://www.angelfish.net/tankvolcalc.php
Li@m
Approx. 720L
Joe
You'd need a glass thickness of no less than 15mm for a tank that huge.
Sheepsnana
hey looking at getting a tank made up.. 2mtr long 600 wide by 600 tall how many litres would that be? 20 x 6 x 6 = 720L. If these are the outside dimensions, then you will need to consider the glass and any ornaments, as these will take up some of that 720, but probably not much. blueether
You'd need a glass thickness of no less than 15mm for a tank that huge. 12mm would do it I would think, 10mm would still give a factor of 2.4. David R
200*60*60=720000/1000=720L gross (actual volume is less depending on glass thickness, substrate, water level etc). You'd need a glass thickness of no less than 15mm for a tank that huge. Anything 60cm high will be fine with 10mm if correctly braced. My 240x97x62cm 1400L and Henwards 210x80x70cm 1200L were both made from 12mm. I don't think you'd need 15mm until you go over 70cm high or want to go rimless. henward
yeah 10mm is fine, 12 is plenty. 15mm is if your width is 90 plus. 15mm glass is SUPER thick! it will be one safe tank though:D
Ira
yeah 10mm is fine, 12 is plenty expensive. .... 15mm glass is SUPER expensive! it will be one safe tank though:D There, I fixed that for you.
Adrienne
ummm living in Christchurch it would be very wise to err on the side of caution and consider 15mm.
F15hguy
has anyone tried using a flexible mat underneath the tank to prevent earthquake damage???
