Liam, where did you get your dragon stone from?

+1

But I agree with you Liam, unsure if it's like a browny yellowy or more of a grey. I'll have to go and see if there are some more landscaping stores around here.

Quite like the look of a stone called seiryu stone. A very unique kind of rock, probably impossible to find in NZ though

Okay, I'm a bit confused.

Does surface disruption decrease the level of CO2 in the tank? Ie if I use a HOB filter and diffuse the CO2 into the tank make add ing CO2 redundant?

The agitation caused by the HOB will off gas the CO2 but won't render it ineffective, most probably you'll just need to add more CO2 to compensate.

Drove down to the Pet Centre in the Hutt today. Some guy rear ended me on the way...

Bought some dragon stone and a curved glass tank so I'm pretty happy  except the car has a ding in it now :digH:

Flourite, lighting and filtration to sort out now

Same lamp fitting as I have on my ~50l

Seemed like a good cheap fixture, got the wrong colored bulb, might get another fixture and 2 x 23W 5000K bulbs

looking good mann what fish you going to stock it with?

Cheers, no plans on stocking yet, I quite like dwarf rasboras or emerald rasboras

I was running a 23w cool daylight until i dropped the whole thing in the tank. fixture still works but I only had a warm daylight bulb, nowhere near as good

:slfg: it is a bayonet fitting, problem is that the base of this bulb is tiny, and it's too hard to push in and turn in such a small place. Tempting to grab the bulb and twist, but I've already broken one doing that
