kiwiplymouth
With the first batch being sold at 3-4cm, I was assuming that these were some of those that hadn't sold.

smidey
i saw them at the end of last year in the albany store, they are the same batch as the ones available last year. there were 5 or 6 & were all trying to hide behind the only small rock in the tank. Joshlikesfish
They're not as impressive as they're made out to be :-?

Windsparrow
will they be fine with Duboisi???
smidey
i am unsure, that would depend on what water parameters you have the trophs in & what they require. I have been told that other plecs like the gold nugget would be fine with trophs.
jim r
Gold nuggets( Amazon ) prefer ph around 7. Duboisi ( African ) ph8. Zebra Plec ( Amazon ) ph 6.7.
smidey
Gold nuggets( Amazon ) prefer ph around 7. Duboisi ( African ) ph8. Zebra Plec ( Amazon ) ph 6.7. not all africans are kept in high ph's, in a perfect world they would be. mine are in around 7.4ph, would that be ok for a gold nugget? Adrienne
I would suggest that if you want to know whether or not they are from the same batch that you ask the seller. That is what the trade me question and answer section is for. In my opinion, from what I saw on Monday, they are not but then again I did not ask. They looked very nice and still relatively young. From my understanding they are not that easy to breed. I also would imagine that the last thing a person would say on a public forum is that they have bred them. Once again, imo and ime, if you want to ask someone something like that the best way to do it is in private ie pm or email them. If they want you to know they will tell you. jim r
I got the last 5 from the previous batch according to the manager ( whom I spoke to on the phone ) when I arranged pick up on the 1st October last year.
phoenix44
will they be fine with Duboisi??? No! They'll probably kark it! Not to mention you need to feed them high in meat diets like prawn. Your dubs might get bloat, and never let the poor thing eat. They are terribly shy as is! smidey
is there that much fear with these fish that it is a national secret to keep them? don't get me wrong, they are stunning fish but just an over priced tank cleaner that you rarely see from what i understand about their behaviour. so from this thread i guess that rabbit bred the current batch. brilliant, good on you for doing so & i hope you can supply a whole lot more so they are a reasonable price & accessable to all. that can only be a good thing for the hobby. Once you have done that can you please do the same with some rainbow trophs?
livingart
so from this thread i guess that rabbit bred the current batch. whoa sherlock how did you guess that? psychic?

smidey
whoa sherlock how did you guess that? psychic? i posted guess as rabbit has not stated to me or publicly that i am aware of that he has so i can only assume, i wouldn't want to state that he did when he did not.
