  2. Finding a net finding a creek you guys are making it sound like hard work I like shrimp but not that much :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  3. Id pay $20 for one shrimp :dunno:
  4. Are you drunk ....... or just ........ :bounce: :bounce:
  5. Why try to make common names more accurate. common should be vague, scientific (latin) should be accurate A small population will care about silly things like sterbai vs golden leopard. The rest of the population wants a interesting fish and be able to confidently say to their friends "Oh that's a Gold Leopard :smln: ", not "Oh thats a :sage: ". also this population would rather have fun than a whine. :bounce: :bounce: How many hobbies commonly have latin variations of names. Not many, so why complicate this hobby for the :dead%fish (deaf fish)? also hybrids. :mbh:
  6. So it got stuck in the snails shell, not actually in it's mouth? Probably tried to have a snack but got stuck.
  7. ^ To people like us.. I don't think it would be amazing (Unless we're new or just feel like buying a fish). But for newbies who don't know what they're buying until they go to a LFS it would work quite well. Hell I'm sure even on the bus/train I would whip it out and look up some fish I've been thinking about. Just curious, how to do you plan to do the profile databasing, use a different website or make your own?
  8. Good idea, just be careful with the layout. The benefit of apps vs looking for something online is most of the profiles online don't seem to be mobile friendly, making it a wreck to move around. If you can cache profiles prior to leaving your internet access area (assuming you're not on 3g) this could be a good idea. If you want to go for some fish but don't want to remember every detail. As well as poking the heads of people working there if you're unsure about something. In the future if you incorporate it with a forum so you can browse it easily at a nice format. At the end of the day, are you looking for a profit from this? Or will it be free? What will truly be motivating you? Since it's something like a database you will most likely have to create your own profiles (Unless you contact a website themselves,eg badmans). If it's for profit, you're not going to have a major audience unless you target it moreso towards the states. I would look more into what it will cost to setup, how you will be funding it (Donations? Paid applications?) ect. It can be alot of work, think about how you're going to approach these. Not to put you off, just have a good think about this and discuss it with your mate. I reckon go for it.
  9. start smart without stupidly overstocking/feed too quickly is good way if no access to old bio
  10. It's normal behaviour, especially if not in a school. The activeness between a lone clown loach and a school (10 or so) is vast. If he doesn't have any physical symptoms and eats well, i would move him in with others. Take your time acclimatizing though, and as DavidR said, close a gap on the PH if there is one (So acclimatization goes smoother). Feed him solid food (NLS/Hikari/Frozens) and he'll be aight. Also for your quarantine tank is there a cave for him to hide in if stressed?
  11. just stop feeding for a while allow the tank to cycle and treat the tank with melafix
  12. I didn't see the final KO but damn, Jones had Shogun down the entire fight. Clear winner easily from round one.. Shogun put up a good fight though, just needs to stay off the ground more and use jones height against him more.
  13. Keen on learning it someday, with bjj watched main 2 fights of ufc128 (late for the stream) crocop is still brutal for is age
  14. You can leave water with a open lid and Chlorine will dissipate into the atmosphere, although chloramines will still be present(Which tends to be more lethal) Ideally go to a lfs and buy some stresscoat / prime / pond grade dechlorinator. Stresscoat 5ml per 38L, Prime 5ml per 200L. Pond stuff ranges. Just use the product on the new water 10 or so mins before acclimation. If you're putting them into a temporary home, look into filtration if you haven't already. Very important.

  16. What setup are you looking at doing?
  17. I highly doubt a commonly used fungal treatment would harm your fish or aquarium unless stated on the bottle, or used within their recommended dosages. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  18. Yes, I've seen his videos - very cool. Sure, they could thrive in those water conditions that they're used to. But when buying it from a LFS (Which i would assume have a higher or appropriate PH), and putting them into a PH of 4.6. I have a feeling it wont end well. Don't really want to acclimatize for 12 hours. It's similar to say "I don't waterchange my tank and my fish are fine, why should you?". I would much rather have fish in their preferred range - and be happier than somewhat trying to wing it. Oh, and he asked a question, which i answered. Also Ryan, I'm sure you know it's important to have an appropriate ph/kh value with all the cichlids you breed, yes?
  19. PH is low for your Guppy tank, raise it to 7.5 ish.
  20. get cf1200 nd be done with MAN!!! got one for 130 at hffzz and those zebras ARE cute :bounce: :bounce:
  21. Yeah Im gona go for it! I going to buy the Zebra pleco and put it with my tropheus deboisi. I think they will look great in my wall mounted aquarium. I have the tank in my minimalist kitchen stainless trim. Nice :happy2: . Zebra danios are great dither will go awesome with them should go with my black and white theme! Ive done my research on the internet and the Zebra plecs should go ok in a Ph of 7.5 so the Trohpeus will fine.
