Adrienne
Why aren't you at school Joe? You can't upload photos from your computer. They must be online on a site that allows sharing, like Photobucket. Spoken like a true parent Joe, you can email them to me and I will post them if you like
Caryl
So can I but I think we need to encourage him to work it out himself. He has had all day at home to do so
SamH
Hope you used your day wisely, I do heaps of water changes on my days off
Joe
I absolutly don't have a clue how to add the photos. I went to Post Reply and clicked on Img on the toolbar. After that I tried to add the photos but couldn't find anything that would let me add them. It was soooooo fustrating...
bdspider
You can't host photos on this site directly. If you go to www.photobucket.com and create an account you can upload your photos to there. Then come back here, make a post and use the copy-paste IMG (from the photobucket site) to post the photo.
Joe
How much is this going to cost me?
SamH
I've just created this mini guide, no account creation needed. HTH 8)
Caryl
It is free Joe. You have to log in to the link bdspider gave you, and register. Ask mum and dad first. If you still get stuck I will come and show you.
Caryl
A mini guide to what Sam? What web site is it? Surely you must register with them to be able to upload your pics?
SamH
Tinypic is easier, no account creation needed, free but you can't locate photos you've uploaded easily Caryl, it's tinypic.com. It's pretty much as image dumpster. Your photos are up there and just stay there. No way of finding your photos unless you tag them really. Caryl
Photobucket and those like it are just as easy, regsitering is easy, and you can find your pics
SamH
But account creation and log in can be a pain sometimes. Up to the user to choose which site s/he uses
phoenix44
argumentative mood eh? rather have photobucket and have access to your pics when you need them.
SamH
argumentative mood eh? An optimist would say I was justifying my actions but argumentative works too.
bdspider
Sam's idea is good, I wouldn't have thought about it before. Would make sense for Joe since he was concerned with account creation. I'm gonna use tinypic from now on with one-off pictures, so I don't have them in my flickr in future.

Joe
I think I might use photobucket because I am concerned about not being able to find my photos on tinypic
Joe
My sagittaria has flowered under water. Is it supposed to do this? I thought plants' flowers are emmersed.
phoenix44
yeah it flowers. lets out a shoot and you get flowers. different species of the plant have different flowers.
Caryl
I, like Joe, thought they only flowered above water though.
phoenix44
The flower will usually be outside the water. it is of next to no use under the water.
Joe
About a month ago I started up a DIY CO2 system. The diffuser consisted of an airstone placed in the filter outlet. Around a week ago it got clogged so I removed it. Jennifer Hamlin told me it is not a good idea to use airstones as when the clog they cause the bottle to explode from the pressure of the built up CO2 gas. So I want to get a proper diffuser. I did a bit of research and have decided that I like: ADA Pollen Glass Beetle 40 (CO2) The item code is 102-104. I also want an ADA Beetle Counter (item code: 102-202) to go with it. Does anyone know how much these cost and where to get them? Also I want to know where I could get a discount, as FNZAS members get discounts or something at certain shops. It doesn't bother me where the shops are in NZ that sell them, because I could have them posted or someone could bring them down to conference for me. Although it all depends on the price... SamH
They aren't readily available in New Zealand, they cost a fair bit overseas too. Shipping is a killer also. Here's a link to their USA shop, very expensive: http://www.adana-usa.com/index.php?main ... cPath=2_15 HTH
phoenix44
OMG hahha ADA diffusers, I know a few wholesalers in Japan and they are astronomically priced. Think NZD $100+ and they are not suitable for DIY systems. And those are the wholesale prices.
SamH
Smashing the CO2 up with the filter is another option. Then again, if you put heaps of CO2 in then you won't even need a diffuser
