me
Hi, there are obviously a few people here interested in tortoises (me included). I realise they are very rare here but does anyone know what you would have to pay if one did become available? Are we talking hundreds, thousands or more??? Thanks for your help. Like every other tortoise fan I'm particularly keen to get hold of a female but I realise I might be dreaming! haha

me
Great thanks for that! I was searching under "tortoise" rather than "tortoises" I think. $1800 seems a lot, I wonder what a breeding age female would be worth!

I was searching under "tortoise" rather than "tortoises" I think. $1800 seems a lot, I wonder what a breeding age female would be worth! Isn't trademe's search engine pathetic that if you search for "tortoise" it won't find "tortoises". Good price, shame I'm broke right now
Dimsum
I've emailed that seller and they said that in the past their torts have come out femail so this time they've tried to get males. We did not go below 87.8 and did not go above 89.6. During the middle of incubation we ran the temp @ approx 88.0 up to 88.9. Any tortoise breeders want to comment on the incubation procedure? I would love one but the better half wants an engagement ring, I offered an engagement tortoise as a compromise and suffered for that comment. alanmin4304
If you put tortoises it will find tortoise?
enzoom1
If you put tortoises it will find tortoise? Nope I'd love to have a tortoise, but, if only I had the money.. :-?
David R
If you put tortoises it will find tortoise? No, it is utterly useless. I have a huge list of saved searches, simply because I have to have "clown loaches" and "clown loach", "tortoise" and "tortoises" etc.
Southerrrngirrl
I would love one but the better half wants an engagement ring, I offered an engagement tortoise as a compromise and suffered for that comment. hothouse
TM search tip for the day: If you want search Tortoise and Tortoises in on search, type in: Tortoise*. The star will give you any of the following: Tortoise, tortoises, tortoise's etc. This can be used in saved searches. Cheers Chris

alanmin4304
did you mean finances or fiances?
repto
if they are in fact males they are quite a bit over priced. They will still sell for that I would think but I would not pay that much for a male.Even a young female you would have a 8-10 year wait ,maybe longer??to breed. livingart
yes and maybe longer at least at the age they live to if looked after properly they will only cost about 18 dollars per year or less to purchase
