  2. Tank looks great considering you said it was filthy! Keep us updated on the angel fish to see if her appearance changes. I don't have angel fish but I too would think that maybe the filthy conditions had something to do with her appearance (maybe yes, maybe no). Caper

  10. Hmmm...Sam, my blind goldfish, doesn't appear to have a great sense of smell. I mean when I put the food in he doesn't go directly at it so that leads me to believe it's not so great...but then I haven't asked him either  Caper

    bamboo??

I'll be interested to hear how you make out with the bamboo. Somebody else tried it here, oh shoot sorry can't think of name at the moment...but he ended up removing it as it became mouldy. He was originally using it to put tubing in which if had worked out would have been a great idea! Caper

Wonderful looking tank Great job! In the first 2 pics I thought you had a black/white substrate and was getting ready to ask you what it was till I saw the other pics  Caper

  18. You always see questions about unwanted or too much algae. How do you know you have enough for algae eating fish? Caper
  19. heyandrea wrote I have my 10 gallon tank in a bedroom upstairs which if a sunny day the sun will eventually shine directly on tank. Therefore, I either put a piece of cardboard that I have in front of the tank or in the window. But then this is easy because the tank is small. Eventually I will get a blind for the window which would be easier :-? Caper
  20. I agree with Caryl, get someone else to do it They painted my apartment a couple of years ago, can't say for sure what kind of paint was used, all I know is they used the wrong kind  Anway, all I did was cover my tanks with blankets and had no problems. Caper
  21. Have you tried the pea treatment? No food for 3 days, then peas for 3 days...just a suggestion Caper
  22. I learned here long ago that a stable pH is better then one that fluctuates. However, I do have a question does the pH that the fishies come from (other than those bred in tanks) such as rivers and such, is the pH in those bodies of water different from one to the next??? Caper
