  1. I too was very concerned for the oor horses in the dark, rain and the mud with no food. Seems it was not necessary to worry after reading the reply to Wok. Alan 104
  2. Nothing, chlorine goes out of the water with aeration. Just cycle the tank as tho it was a heated one. Alan 104

    Saltwater Pond?

Yeah!! Watch ya undersize crays grow up to a side dish with salad. Alan 104

    HELP!!!

Just hold tighter with the left hand, better than choking or starving, and they'd get over it I'm sure. Alan 104

    ALTUM ANGELS

I remember when Frans got those ones in. They cost a helluva lot more than the "Altums" for sale now. In fact I think Frans actually bred them as well. Alan 104

    HELP!!!

What about those little darts that kids have that have a sucker on them?? Might be able to withdraw it using that. Methodoligy:- Thumb and index finger around the throat, rest of the fingers behind the front legs, middle finger up under the throat, (stop the marble being pushed further down) and use the right hand with the sucker. Could also use a small scalpel and operate. If they can have a leg chewed off and grow again, it would be no sweat for a little nick to repair itself. Goodluck Alan 104
  8. They'd go well with oscars. Definately wont nibble their fins so no trouble there. Alan 104
  9. The goldfish won't need to be removed just cause the temp is going up. They'll love it and prolly start spawning for you. Alan 104
  10. When I went to Sydney 14 years ago, I took in my Vid. cam, introduced myself and asked if I could film. "No sweat mate, go for it" All you have to do is ask. Different when I filmed in the Sydney airport tho. Didn't like those little machine guns one little bit. Very short film, for obvious reasons there. Alan 104
  11. One Tree Hill, Mt Eden, Mt Hobson, Three Kings, Mangere Mountain, just about all the cones have them. Alan 104
  12. Yo Caryl. That'd be an improvement. Alan 104
  13. Dave, as a member of the FNZAS exec., and Pres of WAS, should know better than have the WAS club in a position to have to be named. No excuse there at all!! Wasn't it the WAS club that got a trophy or a mention with the biggest % increase last year?? The hardest part for the NZKA is to get the money in from the members and prospective members on time. But at least we have an excuse, we only have a meeting once a year, so can't eyeball the team. But it would of been nice to have a "sorry I won't be joining up this year" from those not wishing to come back. That way we wouldn't have to keep sending out reminders. Alan 104
  14. Don't you dare do what Wok is suggesting. I carry the Yearbook in the car and I don't have a lap-top. Alan 104
  15. I just got to a point when I could see the top of Egmont(refuse to call it the other name), and saw it was still a long way to go and as my sandshoes were thru, I thought stuff it. Ya know wot I mean huh?? Alan 104
  16. Prolly help your water to the alkaline side with the lime. Alan 104
  17. Sorry Mitch I started out three days ago and no one would stop for me so I walked back home. Good luck with the auction. They are always fun events and good times for socializing. Alan 104
  18. Birdwoman, nice to see that you are native to this part of the world, but would you like to put what area of NZ you are from. Just change your location in your profile information, helps later down the track. Thanks Alan 104
  19. The one with the RED ticket on is mine
  20. Sorry Peter but I have not got any of your line. The ones I got from you were before your breakup, and I was hoping to get some from Wellington area when they had bred them up but missed out. So I'm now trying to get some V's numbers up from some types I got of TM. By the way, one of yours won the National Show at Napier, I think C will have a pic of that somewheres. Alan 104
  21. Sharn and Rogan, you checked to see if Western have been affiliated yet? Might pay to do so, may have slipped thru the net. Alan 104
  22. Next time maybe if you quarantine your purchases or fish you even obtain, for at leasr a week, in a separate aquarium, you wont run into this problem again. So what if you do have to have an extra tank? They always come in handy for spawning or for raising fry when not in use as a Q tank or hospital. We sometimes learn from our mistakes. Alan 104
  23. I doubt that they will be on their lists either as they could or would have been imported as corydors spp. This is what could really stuff up the hobby for lotsa ppl, this sort of rubbish. Alan 104
  24. No definately not. Get hold of them if they are available and breed them up if you can before the border is closed on them. I'm pretty sure that unless they are illegal when you get them, you can keep them, and that means it may be the last time you'll see them legally in NZ. They are just thinking about taking them off the importation list. DUH!! Alan 104

    Euthanasia

That's why rubbish bags were invented for. For big fish I have used electrocution, but I'm not allowed to say that. OSH would go crook. Alan 104
