  1. They should be. Who would get supper while the group discuss important things. Alan
  2. The trouble using a breeder net like you have, can create a position where she will abort or stress excessively. With yours having hers so soon after being put into the trap, I'd almost bet on it that they are premature, or else you are extremely lucky to have timed it that way. The way to go is to have a spare tank to put her into, so she is not stressed, put her in approx a week before she is due. Floating plants and java moss for baby security. Give her a break of a week before putting her back with her mates. MTS coming up. Alan
  3. Aaron, MOST livebearers are pregnant ALL the time if there is a male with them. Even at times when no male is available, she can give birth 4 or 5 times before emptying out. About 4 weeks would be right for her to have her next lot. Alan

  6. Try feeding them peas, lettuce, cucumber, baby marrows, yams, the list goes on. The other algae eaters will happily eat those too. Alan PS. maybe you could milk the TFB's they eat so much green. Al

  9. I holy or is it wholie or is - - oh stuff it, agree with you Robbo Alan
  10. Juicier too Bill. Actually, if a lot of AMBULIA cuttings are put into a tank. The results can be disasterous, it gives off a poison from it's sap. mmmmmm, betcha didn't know that, now didja? Alan
  11. Way to go JL, life gets so much better when a consistant wage comes in. DON'T get MTS, you may have to get another job. Alan
  12. Use the plastic bag you got it in, roll the top edges down, put some water in and chuck it in there and take it back tomorrow. What did it cost ya?? You could use a peg and peg it to the side of the tank, AND it's not really neccessary to use the same bag either. Alan
  13. Java fern and Java moss would be my choice. But you can get some pretty realistic plastic plants no tho. Not what I'd have in a tank tho. Why not try roots, logs, rocks, for a bit of a variation. Alan
  14. Man of few words is our Cees Alan
  15. I have some here for $100.00 each only males tho. I want to keep the females so as I can breed with them, and keep the price up. I'm sure YOU understand. Alan
  16. If ya let us know what your location is, we may be able to point you in the right direction for a local club who can or may help with setting up your tank and also support. Welcome to the pond. Alan

    Dwarf cockatoos

Sorry Fins never read the full post. Livefoods, separation, a "low" coming in from Oz, a water change, plenty of cover for the confidence of the fish, a compatable young pair. If these are combined in the correct order, you may succeed. Alan

    Firemouths eggs

Have you nay got a flat stone or a flower-pot on it's side in there? That would make it a lot easier for them to lay. Sounds like they could be eggs, but the parents will be fanning them if they are. If not Stiff bikkies. Alan

    how....

Why don't you show them how clever you are Chris and correct them? SIC-LID is correct. Guess wot? They wont be able to say you don't know what your talking about. You've been informed by EXPERTS X is an unknown factor and SPERT is a drip under pressure. Alan

  22. Couldn't have aimed better. Taking out the flower-horn I mean. Sorry about the shop tho. Alan
  23. That's exactly how it worked reef. He could sell so much thru his shops but when the other shops got together he was zapped. Talk about sneaky. He was shut down by MAF for illegally importing corals and such. He was also the one that brought in piranah and those bitterling, similar fish to the ones that I bred, as well as others. Alan
  24. Years ago there was an importer in Auck that had two retail outlets. Hollywood and Ellerslie. The other shops soon brought him into line by not dealing with him. But he had done what he wanted to. Developed a target base. Reminds you of the petrol conglommerates at all??? Soon be up to $1.50, and the price fell last night by a whole dollar, did the pump price come down? Don't think so. Now to go and look at Trade Me and check out that shop. Alan
