  1. Found a person on Trademe selling 20L buckets for $3.25 each. Had food additives in it. Have purchased 2 so hopefully they will be good, and if so I'll let you guys know. Looks like he has quite a few. http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auct ... d=40056202
  2. I think the Anenome Island is a fantastic idea. I think it just makes your tank. What brand of lighting have you got? And where did you get them from?
  3. Thanks for the invite. Is the floor around it safe??
  4. Well done Cracker. It sure is a "Cracker" of a tank you have now! A big leap from a cube. Watch you don't spill any water on your other applianced below
  5. Yeip. Looks similar to that. I'd say the one you have pumps out more L/H than Mitre 10's.
  6. Here's a slightly better site: http://www.eaquanature.com/store/produc ... cts_id=240
  7. Just let you all know Mitre 10 Mega has these Sicce Nova Pumps for sale for $11.17. Italian design so they look good. 8) Found a website selling these for AUS$69.60!!!! http://www.agrhydroponics.com.au/hydrow ... ory7_1.htm 200L - 800L/H. 160cm at 0 flow. 80cm at 450L/H. Submersible. Outlet is 13mm, inlet can be 17mm with adapter (provided) otherwise it uses a flow control. Should be good for in tank flow. Has suckers to stick on glass. Power cable is reasonable length too. At that price, nothing to lose.
  8. I sell them Check under Commercial Trade. Thanks for the pics Slappers. I've decided just to keep with the ones I have for now, even though it is harder to switch off. I plan not to use them that often once my system is running. How often do you guys use the valves? Also one more question... Does anyone use some type of filter over their standpipes to stop foreign objects from being sucked into the sump?
  9. Thanks for your comments and tips. Hey, I take the good with the bad. How else am I to learn? No wonder why they cost only $13 . How does the blue handle ones work? and what's the cost of those? All my plumbing are 20mm. Many thanks.
  10. Ok, here's another update. The finised overflow in the maintank. Here's a pic of my stand pipe outlet with the ball valves. Here's a close up of the SCWD and the Hansen elbow to hose connection. I do have a question. How much do you tighten hose clips? Should I silicon around the hose to SCWD or just leave it as is like the picture? Thanks HelifaxNZ
  11. Yeah matey. You need one of these 7 seaters just to hold the NSW! Forget about the other stuff like kids.
  12. I've ordered a AquaMedic Biostar Flotor on the recommendation of Jetskisteve as they are small and will fit in my sump very well. By the way Jetski, just received it today, but they sent the wrong one  They sent me just the Biostar and not the Biostar Flotor, so will have to wait longer!
  13. What's the actual measurements? I'm trying to invisage how many will fit in my MPV.
  14. Might be interested. Keep me posted on costs.
  15. Ok, here's an update: Picture of my cut overflows: Sump overflow pieces. Had to cut in half so it makes it easier to cut the slots: Glueing together: Finished product of the sump: Here's some pics of the main tank overflow being piece together: Here's pics of the main tank with my standpipes (without the top on) temp. screwed in and my inlets with part of the Loc-Line system:
  16. I also read that if you are to purchase a triggerfish, that getting a juvanile is better and feeding it live food would make them more aggressive.

    congrats

Congratulations to you and your wife. Enjoy the time with the baby as they don't stay that way for too long. Just a year, then it's the next phase
  18. I went back a couple of pages and saw your tank. Cool. That overflow looked huge! Did you ask them to cut the teeth too? Was it expensive? Is that made out of one piece of acrylic that they bent around? I've finished cutting out my teeth from the acrylic pieces I had done. If I get a chance tonight, I'll start glueing them together.

    Baby banggai

Well done Reef. These fish are awesome, and has been on my list of fish when my tank is up and running.
  20. Woudn't a round tank like that make them go blind??? Or shouldn't I go there???
  21. Well they were either baby squid or cuttle. Not exactly sure which one.
  22. Definately cool movies, and amazing watching them change colours!
