  1. Thanks Skippy, I know what you mean, scary!!. it should all be fine, I'll feed the corals a little bit more. Hows the tank, ready to try some acro frags??. Only trouble may be that big devils hand of yours, one of the most toxic softies and may mean problems keeping sps?? and thanks Fay for the offer, but as per our phone call, the sump will be ok - seperate from refugium - and that little something has been cut, and I'll mount it for you tomorrow
  2. if you say so, and if the flow is so good, how is that going to help anenomes from get stuck in it??
  3. thanks for that Pies, good to know.
  4. Checked the tank this morning and noticed a puddle under the refugium, checked every where and finally noticed a long crack in one side. disconnected, emptied and removed. Just lucky I've taken a few days leave, could have been alot worse. Don't think I'll replace it at this stage, house going on the market next month and it's just another thing to shift. Alot of life disappeared with it. Mind you, the sand smelt very bad when I removed it and the bottom of the rocks in it were black!!. Interesting to see it the cyno/diatoms/dinos (which ever one it maybe) disappear now.

    Happy Chappy!

wow, thats alot of dosing. I'll talk to you when I visit re costs. I presume it would be 5X the dosing and cost for a 1000l tank.

Well wasp (and zeovitnz), if I can't kick the dinos that are growing in my tank within a couple of months, I am going to consider zeovit. and lets not hear all the old fixes, flow, skimmers, bb, feeding, vodka, I'm all ready doing all that. Giving Vodka at least 2 months and then I'll be giving Brendan a ring like to pay you a visit soon wasp.

Well, I suppose you could, but it's the controller thats great. You can start and stop it at any angle, you've got 6 speed settings, and how would you do the split i.e. the pipe going in is static, the outlet rotates. and its low voltage.

No Duke, Only softies I have are Zenia, which love a good blast, and a leather which gets good flow but not direct, My setups for sps, acros mainly. Mushrooms and euphilia hate my tank
  15. haha, wheres layton when you need him. You wait, Skippy of the north, I'll convert you to Acros
  16. The brand I'm using is triple distilled (for purity). Been almost a week now, haven't noticed much change yet, slime still grows, although looks a bit lighter with less mass, white film just starting to appear on glass, indicating bacteria bloom I think. Skimmer skimming heaps - running it wet but now taking out 5 litres every 4-5 days!!!! Corals and fish all looking great, unaffected.
  17. foe Its a apitasia anenome. they will spread quickly throughout your tank and become a real pita. get rid of it while there is only one. a number of ways to get rid of them, spread kalk paste on it, use joes juice, peppermint shrimps, copperband butterfly.... heaps of others ways.
  18. If its only in one eye, its probably a wound, i.e. a mechanical abrasion and will come right in time without doing anything. My chalk bass had popeye in one eye, and I read up and this was what was generally agreed. Sure enough he came right in a week or so, with no effects. If it is in both eyes, then you could have a more serious problem - which I'll leave to others with experience dealing with it.

yep, great growth Skippy, haven't moved much, few extras here and there Thats for the nice comments all, tanks looking good, still a bit of slime - still not sure if its cyno, but waiting for vodka/flow to help, but in all other areas its great and Pies, they are a good device, I'd like another as well, and a couple more streams. I think if you aquascaped with them in mind you could semi hide them and have a nice random flow effect.
