  1. Run the same reactor material, as does pies and a few others. Never had measurable nitrate or phosphate.

  14. old argument, we all know the Layton is never wrong.... why bother.
  15. Pretty happy with my colours altough not as intense as say Craigs. Do have excellent growth with good large colonies. Welcome to come and have a look Reef, before its pulled down for the shift. Tanks looking stunning at present - typical.
  16. I'm with cookie, my ph barely gets above 8 - ever - and my growth is crazy. Don't really want another 25-50% growth rate!!!!
  17. mines very healthy, got a few spots just after I got him, but nothing since. His colours are stunning and glow, very fit. Funny cause he doesn't seem that aggressive, in fact had to put a mirror up for the first week as the yellow tank and lamarck angel harrassed him endlessly. Now they all get on fine - no aggression at all.
  18. Strange because I would have thought that if it was light related, ther would have been variations in effect, given some corals would be in deeper water or more shaded positions. Why would your corals go brown reef, if you ran too much carbon/rowaphos?? Maybe growing more zooxanthellae to shild the light, if so why did Chimeras bleach, and not brown out.
  19. I just wonder if something else hasn't occured. Seems strange to me that if it was just carbon clearing the water and strong light, that all corals were affected, even those on the lower levels of the tank. Wish Chimera would find those old 2 cent peices in his tank, would solve the mystery for all.
  20. It may be Layton, my point being that a number of tanks are running the same lights, and are responding well, some very well.
  21. Wasn't directing the comment at everyone. Post from you reef earlier in this thread stated that the new lights "fried his corals" and THEN the carbon further exasperated it.
