i have an acrylic tank its good if you have kids who may "bump" a glass tank you need to move it on your own i could go on and on about why my next tank will be glass!

how much are they wasp? I could control it via an IKS socket if its 240V what flow rate is it? I am 100% sure the IKS is an OEM pump..... found them on AP's website wasp, looking good to go....

So is a large system like this worth more sold as a single system or more if you strip it down and try to get maximum value for the components?

not hard to shift , I would just setup large tank for fish and corals as temp home, move them in, then move the main tank and fill etc, move livestock back over a few days....... I bet most spending a bit each week do not normally end up with the kitlist PC100 has, its all top quality kit..... we can all look at marine depot and find out how much to import it all, then we expect it all at a 50% discount because its 2nd hand....... Is it reasonble to expect a 50% discount for second hand kit? is that all people will pay?

I watch with interest the sale of PC100's tank. Its an impressive setup with good quality kit, I have not done the numbers but its probably pretty good indication of the true cost of buying good kit livestock etc, and the results show. I wonder how many NZers have the dosh to go out and buy it all at once like this? We all buy, trade, import kit etc to upgrade. In the UK its possible to buy this type of setup at knockdown prices as people left hobby, with the only potential buyers others who already have big tanks etc.......

The main reason why someone who had a large tank might seriously consider importing and then selling a few fish/corals privately, is that there hobby would then become a business, with all the relevant tax deductions it implies. As everyone says its quite hard to make a fortune in that game, but also quite easy to run a small tax loss.......

cookie, I got sick of all the product pushing and tainted advice so I just watching for a while and i now spend a lot more time reading advanced aquarist and other stuff rather then asking for advice from people with little knowledge or experience. of course this takes more time but i believe I have learnt a lot. perhaps you should also clearly state who has been banned so that everyone is clear and no one starts rumours..... and from now perhaps apply your own guidelines, which read having watched this board quietly from afar over the last 6 months, but regularily PMed several members, it is obvious to me that most (but not all) of the posts that result in thread deltition are the result of vendors pushing or defending their products. Warren you know who you have had to speak to over the past few years..... I think if you apply the rules you already have then you may find your life gets easier. nuff said... back into stealth mode.

in dvd eric recommends no fish for 6-8 months, just rock and snails and corals till tank cycled...... think he says maybe one clown or something.
