wow that is the coolest setup i have seen for ages.....

this looks like a useless toy..... classic of this type of new age must have reefing marketing, here we are arguing over a few % of light... why not just by better reflectors duh streams on the other hand do something and i consider them one of the major new things to come along recently...... that and really good reflectors, and recently very good cost effective skimmers....

both little barrier and great barrier have supperb diving as well not quite the same colours at lt barrier but crays !

have had 4m to 25m viz at PN i really really like winter diving there. where are you based? i am thinking of taking my boat out there for a weekend shakedown cruise in about 2 months.

if you dive on reefs you experience very different temps as different temp water flows onto reefs.

i love Poor knights diving.... those schools of blue MM are amazing to dive with and the walls are covered in life. vis did not look that great? its often better in winter...

use multiple wood airstones, because the wood is so porus the restriction is very low, the bubbles are much smaller then 1 mm this way

i think its how he uses his strobes/flash, i think they are quite dist to the camera in these photos, look at the shadow angle!!!

can the Cannon Powershot S3IS excellent produce RAW format images? the underwater guys rave about this , personally no idea what there on about.....

Dogmatrix - do you use ASW or NSW at the shop for water changes?

stating that using ASW is preferable assumes a pure source of H2O, probably from an RO/DI system...... if you do not have RO/DI then you are going to be adding more nutrients into your system via ASW then using NSW..... if one of the two people who import fish/corals use it, in there business, I can accept its safe.

steve do you use NSW in your import facility? any issues?

reef you are some what of an expert in these matters can you tell us all which particular ones can effect IMPORTED reef fish?

just make sure she cannot go over into your overflow / main pump!

i think its because she feels safe there. also what size is she and how long have you had her? mine did this for the first few months 2 years later you don't see this behavior at all.....

thats the danger in saying how great tanks look, you miss people, fay your tank is up there as well..... next time i am remotely in the port waikato home i will try and contact you to see if i can come and have a look?

I would rate pies and reefs as the best i have seen in NZ tho puttputt looks great (i have not seen it myself) laytons looks a great tank as well.... sometimes the mags only focus on big tanks, as for smaller tanks wasps is right up there....

yes reef puts it up a few times a year, good advertising....... see my other thread about true cost of large tanks......... there has always been people buying and selling, in the past people like reef and steve could put people in touch with one another but it was never really an auction or public thing, now with trademe everyone knows whats for sale and the true value can be measured and obtained but its also bad news for those wanting too much for their setup... when i lived in the uk you could pick up a 5-6 ft tank fully setup with EVERYTHING for 6-700 quid as people left the hobby.....
