??? full tank shot???

Finally finished the lights and a few other shots Layton i have a bit of this for you, just growing it up a bit.

finished product now just to tidy the wireing up..

all the sand gets replaced every 2 weeks

For the height and style of rock structure i would go 2 x 150w. Good thing about these is you can get the electronic ballasts for about $80 each. You can get lanp holders/reflectors that would norn be set into the roof, with these you can direct the light by i think 90 deg. So you could focus the light to the centre.

Yip heaps cheeper, a piece like that should cost you lesws than $130

Does anyone know how to tell male from female? Will 2 boys or girls fight? They have been bred before, who by?

one of the lights/reflectors is now on the tank. working better than i thought. Spreads the light oun nice and even. waiting for the other reflector to be made now, won't be two far away.

Thanks It goes from the pump thru 25mm pressure pipe up to an elbow that goes over the top of the tank, and it is then glued under the bracing. the pipe goes round the inside of all the bracing around the tank. There are three outlets evenly spaced at the front and i on each side in the middle. The water exits thru 3/4 loc-line. I didn't drill a hole in the tank as it was going to be to close to the edges of the tank and strength was an issue. The tank is only made from 10mm glass (30" high tank) Make sense, will try and get some better photos of it.

It took about $60 worth of metal and about four hours to make it up. its all been spot welded every 10mm, and then sand blasted along the joins. theres over 100 welds.

What is the temp and time (in oven) for recharging the beads in the air dryers?? Are they all meant to go blue or are they just a few thru the lot as to act as indcators??
