  7. and reef the thread was about reflectors not sure who brought up bulbs. the DE reflectors look really good compared to the silly little arcadia ones

  13. so anyway, trying to get the durso silent. obviously the amount of water going through makes a difference in the performance. the question i have is how much would be optimal for a 25mm hole with the 32mm stand pipe? and does more air or less air make it quite???

fish that i keep will have a better survival rate and longer lives than their oceanic cousins. and enough room to live very happy lives. ira i was just tempting you for a response i still love a good softie tank, (just not many of them around, to many little frags and stuff)

why does any fish need a big tank? you can keep a clown in a small tank but at the end of the day with out good equiptment and alot of work, the water quality will deteriorate rapidly and stress out the clown, and plus fish are living creatures and shouldnt be bottled up for our amusement.
  17. lduncan is right, hydrometers are crap. they break really easy and are not that acurate. get a good refractometer. and save some money in the long run
  18. how is JC an abbreviation for Lazarus??? thats quite an incredible story. Hopefully it pulls through
  19. the thing that cracked me up was the disbelief of some people that he does 100% water changes. just empties it out and fills it up. i thought it made sense, nice and easy, the yanks were all amazed . so back to the sand. is there any way to get the phosphate off the sand?? perhaps a non carbonate sand?
  20. obviously it will remove the loose detritis. but someone mentioned that something would bond to the sand that cant be removed by simply washing it
  21. yeah me and special jimmy. what i would like to pick up on was the whole thing about taking the sand out to clean it and putting it back in. from what i remember someone said that doing so wouldnt make a difference and that something would stay attached to the sand????
  22. when wasp says "expert" i think we all know he's refering to me isnt this about sands etc???
  23. no i use straight tap water. i thought ro would be cheaper
