  1. I didn't bring them 30 years ago you could find them all over Switzerland, where there was some water there they were, not sure if they still are that wide spread nowadays, I doubt it. kept many of them in my youth, very clever escape artists.
  2. are they sure they are european alpine newts and not chinese or japanese firebelly newts ? they look similar (except the males in heat) and we have the firebellies here. google: Bergmolch and look at the pictures of the male ones in heat
  3. thanks, the scenery is a photo diorama with an american touch done by a friend of mine in the states
  4. not cupcakes, not even something to eat but something kiwi it's a NZ120 (1:120 scale) model of a KiwiRail DXB #5166 as seen on the rails near you (north island) (I built the kit, modified the chassis, detailed and painted it and put some decals on)
  5. Hi Fishguy, September 2012 I moved to the South Island, Central Otago. For 11 months now I am feeding two of my Axolotl with lots of tadpoles found everywhere down here. There is no sign at all that they even think to morph. They are well nourished and they lay eggs every three months. I've read that 'rumor' in the German Axolotl forum that they will immediately morph if fed with tadpoles. maybe it's more the law in Europe as you are not allowed to take tadpoles home as all these animals are protected under very strict laws.
  6. can someone please explain why we have to pay Sky TV to watch a tax payer funded channel ? why is TV NZ Heartland not broadcasted on Freeview ? why do I have to pay a private company to be able to watch a public funded channel ?
  7. it seems many here have the Sky TV pay channel SoHo to watch all these shows. does SoHo broadcast uninterrupted or do they spoil the viewers with commercial breaks (annoying even if the breaks are only for future shows on the same channel)
  8. as one of the some out there, I don't know you Jaxxnz, I didn't know you are a owner of a or a waiter in a posh coffee up there. for me it did read as you offered an old, hungry looking lady a coffee and a piece of cake and you were piqued that the old lady didn't have had the manners to pay for it.
  9. ah well, your idea and implementation of your pigs in the mud scene is way more creative than the boring turtle... ...you should have won that section by miles looking at what else was presented.
  10. wow, looking great... :dnc1: ...although I am not sure about these pig bottoms, after all this is a kids friendly forum :rolfl: (at least that is what I am told after every 3rd entry I post)
  11. :rolfl: my favourite one is the one with the stolen gate and may take a fence (offence)
  12. ok, maybe it's just my lack of English tongue but I see a difference between offering something and trying to sell something. a waiter tries to sell me something, he is not offering me something, if he is offering something I expect it to be free. I have guests in my house and I offer them something to drink.
  13. agree to that, Luther is a great series... ...and that Alice Morgan lady, definitely someone you need to have as a friend and not an enemy
