  1. In my case I won't be using any sifters and I don't like snails so try to remove them as soon as I see them. I am using a relatively coarse grain, but have used it in cichlid tanks and haven't noticed it ever going down. Hence why I am asking for opinions on these three products
  2. If I wasn't using sand I would agree, but I found with sand poo settles on top and doesn't have the same use for the roots.
  3. Same, but I figure if people rate the others why not try them.

Try kensfish.com. JBL novo rift and stick M are my second choice for Africans.
  5. Can I please have some opinions on JBL root balls, Seachem flourish tabs and API root tabs. Pros and cons of the products or are they much of a muchness? Thanks
  6. Thanks bro, at least someone is proud of me :sml1: I went with the golden sand, it looks great. Thanks for the push
  7. Mind out of the gutter pal! I spent the day scaping my planted tank, you would be proud of me. I will put some pics up tomorrow when I get the mrs camera from her. P.S the weather was fantastic in Nelson
  8. I have spent the entire day wet wet wet! Fun times!!!
  9. I would love to have a auto system, but I wouldn't know where to start.
  10. I think they would be ...
  11. I am in the middle of watching a youtube video about discus, they are interviewing a guy from a shop in the states and in the background there is a sign for 3 red bellied pirahana for $18 and gold nuggie plecos for $49. Sigh
  12. Hope you took a few pics before you got rid of it!
  13. +1 And +2 on David's thoughts
  14. Defining points are what? I have 3 and all look the same, so I think they are all the same sex
  15. What cichlids are you feeding? Mine take them fine. The Africans prefer african fry and Americans will destroy anything from guppies to bristlenose fry to African fry/young juvis
  16. Haha, I still had enough time to check this while I was stressing at tech printing it off. lol. There is plenty of other options rather than the sevie. Sam will be able to use his small tanks for food raising now :sml1:
  17. I have realised that there is a corolation between my water changes and the banding on my Fronts that night. If I do not do a change most/all of them are very dark. The days I do a small change some of them get some banding on them and the days I do big changes most of them get nice banding on them. I may try and do 30-40% a day for the next 2 weeks and see if that gets the banding more prominent.
  18. You may find the sevurm will get a beating. My mate has the same stock list (excluding loaches) and his sev regularly is pinned in a corner. GT's are cool! I handed my essay in with 22 minutes to spare.
