I cant remember, it was either nearly $200 or $400. Being that $180 was said a few post's earlier I would go with that. I was within my luggage allowance as well and got given the thumbs up at Nelson airport so I was rather frustrated about it all.

Day 3: I also spied what looks like a second one poping it self out of the gravel. You can just see it on the right hand side, growing under the sword leaf.

I am looking at cutting my power consumption my current 8,000 LPH pump runs at 180W and my 5,000 LPH runs at 81W. I found this on trade me http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =630015146 which has significant lower power consumption. Has anyone used one of these? Thoughts on it? Also can anyone recommend any return pumps that are lower in power consumption than what I currently have? Thanks

I have a sand that I have used in my African tanks before, its a similar colour and I think it is a good grain size for plants. But would like to find something with some ferts in it of a similar colour.

So what is a substrate that has a tan colouration to it? Or what subs can I mix together to get that colour

I want a healthy balanced aquarium. I guess I am thinking that if I am using MH,direct inject Co2 and looking into EI ferts that I should complete the package with the substrate as well.

Worth the cost better or I know it grows better but its more of an extra expense that doesnt need to be spent? I am planning on doing this as well as possible so if I have to spend the coin on decent substrate then so be it, otherwise I will not

And that will have no ill effect on plant growth/roots? Will root tabs/balls be surficent to feed the plant roots if I don't use a fertalised substrate?

A question regarding substrate for the plant geeks. I am looking for a tan substrate for the plants. I want it to be a sand over a gravel. What are my options?

My one and only guppie. Nothing in comparison to everyone elses. But has managed to avoid the mouths of hungry Frontosa so I have a bit of a soft spot for him.
