    Otocinclus

Ohh know, I was looking for that many for my 500L. Maybe I will double that. Most tings I read say they prefer smaller groups. Maybe that would be a better go 7 or 8? Hmmm, now I have to do something real reading before I buy them. Thanks

What variety of Otocinclus do we have in NZ?
  5. I like how sharp the black makes the green plants! It gives good depth.
  6. :rotf: How do you know? Have you tryed? :lar:
  7. I hear ya bro. I want to swap my Africans out for something, but can't bring my self to do it.
  8. Couldn't break away from the tryed and tested huh?
  9. Is that the tank you were gunna do American cichlids in?
  10. 1000x450x480= your volume give or take
  11. I have used Schist plenty of times. If you scape it well it looks really nice with Africans. If you do it wrong it looks like tank pancakes.

    Ira's tank

:cophot: Some nice plants in there!
  13. I had a look and there is a layer of green in the front of the sand. How do I counter it? Is my fert schedule to much, lights to high, not enough C02?
  14. MMMM old socks. LOL. I haven't smelt that yet, I will have a closer look when I get home later at the sand you were talking of. I started on 7.5 hours and went up too 8.5 about a week or so ago. So far so good, at this stage. I wasn't sure if I was giving enough hours with the amount of ferts that's why I went up the extra hour and the plants seemed to be growing rather fast so I thought they were getting close to being established.
  15. What's cyano? And not concerned at the brown algae, its only building up on the intake chamber so it hasn't worried me at this stage. From what I understand all planted tanks go through a stage where algae builds up until it settles and becomes established. 50% WC every Monday and 8 1/2 hours light a day. Sounds about what should be happening?
  16. They are actually looking pretty good tonight, I am not gunna be able to make a video tonight, but will do so very soon.
  17. They are even better today, I am going to try take a video tonight. They are roughly the same size as a guppie. They are Lemon tetras, minifish is refering to them being small fish.( Not normally my cup of tea)
  18. Thanks. Last night they were a bit skiterish under the halide. As soon as the light was of they were active as together, same thing this morning. So hopfully a couple of days of the halide and they will be tight all the time. Already considering adding another 60 or so after xmas. Will just have to wait until I get some Discus and see how well they fill the tank before I make that decsion.
  19. Yeah  I didn't have much options for fish stock, so a heap of minifish was the option.... for now
  20. I got a present in the mail today..... Thanks heaps to Ron. Once again, great service and a great price. Cheers  Any thoughts on my fert plan yet?
